Welcome into another week of hockey action on the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook this Thursday! Every team in the NHL has now played at least 10 games this season and you know what that means right? We are now rolling out FULL UNIT bets unless otherwise noted in the article! I thank everyone for their patience as I recalibrated the data for a new NHL season, its time to go on the attack now!

NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today 11/5

St. Louis Blues vs. New Jersey: Thursday, November 5th

Over the past few seasons there has been a trend before Thanksgiving, the Devils are good at hockey! Now it always falls apart in December/January but right now all is well in north Jersey. Tonight they'll host a Blues team that has been middle of the pack, let's get into the matchup here!

When it comes to even strength hockey few have been better in the last 10 games than the Devils. They rank 2nd in goals scored with 2.8 and their defense has been even more impressive allowing just 1.51 expected goals against. This could be a major issue for a Blues team that hasn't exactly been lighting it up this season as over their past 10 games at even strength they've scored just 2 goals per game. 

St. Louis goaltending could keep it close with Joel Hofer but even with that the Devils have one of the greatest goalies of our time in Connor Hellebuyck. Devils are also 7-2-0 straight up at home this season so let's ride with them to win tonight but on the regulation money line as the regular edition of the wager is much too chalky for me.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB

The rationale here is quite simple, the Lightning are one of the biggest favorites on the slate and the Blackhawks aren't scoring goals. Just 1.6 even strength goals out of that offense in the past 10 games, not great. Vasilevskiy is your safest play on the slate. 

Player of The Day: Leon Draisaitl, EDM

We all love Batman but how about a shoutout to Robin here today? Everything Connor McDavid, is Draisaitl is usually there stride for stride. The German winger just nudges out his teammate here today because the Ducks allow the MOST DFS points on the season to right wingers! 

Value Play of The Day: Gabriel Vilardi, WPG

I realize that the Jets aren't a great team right now but their matchup against the Canucks is a fantastic one. They allow the most shots on goal in the NHL and they routinely allow 4+ goals on any given night. at 4.1k he plays with Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor, great bargain for that exposure. 

Defenseman Play of the Day: Cale Makar, COL

I feel like I just go between Makar and Evan Bouchard for this pick most days but can you blame me? Makar is on pace for 90+ points this season and the Predators on the road aren't a great hockey team right now. He plays damn near half the time too, great add to our teams for tonight. 

Top Stack of the Day: Oilers Forward Line 1

The Ducks are just bleeding goals most nights and the Oilers forward group of Vasily Podkolzin, McDavid and Draisaitl should be ready to pounce. This group is also on the top powerplay unit as well so that's a big bonus.
