NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/26

 

Predators vs. Red Wings Prediction 

In a slate this big there are bound to be big mismatches on the ice and this matchup is for sure one of them. The Predators head into Detroit with a straight up road record of 1-7 on the season and have lost 8 of their last 10 contests overall. They allow 3.68 goals per game which is the 4th highest mark in the NHL while they score just 2.32 goals per game and that's dead last in the league. On the flip side the Red Wings have been an excellent home squad this season with a mark of 8-4-1 scoring 3.31 goals per game in front of the home crowd. These numbers only scratch the surface of why you should bet the Red Wings tonight but it's all I need to explain to be fair, let's ride the home side to win.

Canucks vs. Ducks Prediction 

Any game with the Ducks is a fun one to watch right now as they are 2nd in goals scored per game in the entire western conference and they don't appear to be slowing down. On home ice the Ducks are 8-2-0 on the season and score 3.8 goals per game, hard to top those numbers. The Canucks aren't quite on the same level, but they have been scoring enough to tread water on the road this season at 3.17 goals per game. The real kicker for the Canucks though is their league worst expected goals per game metric. They stand alone at the top with a projected 3.87 goals against expected mark and that of course leads me to liking the total on tonight's game. The Ducks should win but there's no real value there so take the over and watch the defense fall by the wayside.

Goalie of The Day: Andrei Vasilevskiy - TOR

Its been a weird year for the Lightning but one thing always remains the same, Andrei Vasilevskiy is still one of the league's best goaltenders. He is just 9-7 straight up on the season but his numbers are improving with a 2.36 GAA and .911 SV%. I expect him to shut the door on this Flames offense tonight as well and we could be on shutout watch. Calgary has one of the league's worst offenses, especially on the road where they score just 2.43 goals per game. They do post a bit over 27 shots per game though, so the floor is there but overall love this play tonight. 

Player of The Day: Cutter Gauthier - ANA

As I wrote about in the betting part of this article this is a huge spot for the Ducks offense tonight, so my play of the day is going to reflect that! Gauthier has led the way for Ducks wingers this season with 13 goals and the Canucks allow the 3rd most DFS points per game to left wingers on the season. The young star is also riding a 4-game point streak that I believe should continue tonight so lock this man in your lineups. 

Value Play of The Day: Ben Kindel - PIT

The Penguins youngster has cooled off a bit of late but tonight is a great matchup for the offense against the Sabres who allow the 6th most DFS points per game to wingers this season. He is slated to play with Sidney Crosby this evening which never hurts either and is also on the top powerplay unit. At 4.2k if he scores its more than worth the play so find a way to plug him into lineups tonight.
