NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/18

 

Blues vs. Maple Leafs Prediction 

The Leafs aren't in a good place right now losers of 5 straight games and Auston Matthews is out of the lineup but sometimes things go too far and I think on the books this matchup is one of these instances. Toronto has lost 5 straight but the Blues are in town tonight and they're just as bad if not worse off so far this season. They are 3-4 straight up on the road and score just 2.79 goals per game overall while the Leafs have already 7 wins on home ice and are still scoring 3.53 goals per game. The money line odds are sort of off in my opinion as the goaltending matchup is even to me and the Leafs are due a win so I will be taking them tonight. 

Pick: Maple Leafs Money Line (-120 on FanDuel)

Rangers vs. Golden Knights Prediction 

This game should tell the tale of great defense tonight as each team has done an awesome job of protecting their own nets this season. The visiting Rangers rank 2nd best in the NHL in terms of goals allowed per game at 2.45 and their star goaltender Igor Shesterkin is once again living up to the hype with a 2.38 GAA through 15 games. On the Vegas side its not as impressive but its still damn good with the Golden Knights allowing 2.89 goals per game and their expected goals against sits as the 4th lowest mark in the league at 2.81. Mix this all together with the fact that the Rangers have gone under in 13 of 20 games this season you have a recipe for a lower scoring affair so give me the under here tonight.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Igor Shesterkin - NYR

A goalie on the road as the play of the day? When you have a team like the Rangers that is 9-1-1 its less crazy and if you have a goaltender like Shesterkin the play starts make way more sense. In 8 road games this season the star goalie is 6-1-1 with a 2.08 GAA and .923 SV% need I say more? The Golden Knights are only scoring 2.89 goals per game on home ice as well despite posting decent shot numbers so Igor is the man to play tonight. 

Player of The Day: William Nylander - TOR

With Auston Matthews out of the lineup the burden falls on the shoulders of others and Nylander is one of the main contributors needing to step in. His last pair of games were underwhelming but he does have 8 goals and 26 points already on the season and the Blues allow 3.57 goals per game on the road this season. At around 8k on DraftKings we will need a goal but I am confident he finds the back of the net on top of his usual 3-4 shots per game on average. 

Value Play of The Day: Andre Burakovsky - CHI

The Blackhawks are in a low key great spot here tonight against a Flames team that could be the worst in hockey. Calgary is putrid on the road too allowing 3.55 goals per game and 29.1 shots per game as well. That's where Burakovsky comes in as a top line winger alongside the red hot Connor Bedard. He has 7 goals on the season and has scored 5 of those in the last 7 games, good opportunity again tonight to pad that stats and at 4.9k on DraftKings I am all over that.
