Utah Mammoth vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction

The Utah Mammoth stroll into Anaheim, hoping to hand the Ducks a 4th loss in a row. Utah has just one win in the last five games and has struggled to keep the puck out of its own net despite allowing fewer than 24 shots a game. They should be better, but their road record isn’t good, and it’s hard to envision them having success tonight.

Anaheim really didn’t enjoy their recent road trip, but they return to Honda Center, where they are 5-1-0. This Ducks team can fill the back of the net early and often, so I’m having a hard time understanding why they are underdogs. They are the better overall team, so we’ll take a swing here and take them to come away with the win, but in regulation.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Pyotr Kochetkov - CAR

There aren’t a ton of elite goalies to choose from, but if you do want to spend up, Pyotr Kochetkov is the way to go. On the surface, the Bruins look like a tough matchup, but their lineup is going to be short a few players. Charlie McAvoy isn’t going to play, and Viktor Arvidsson has been placed on IR. An already thin lineup gets even thinner. Kotchetkov may not see enough shots to really exceed value, so he’s more of a cash-game option.

Honourable Mention: Jet Greaves - CBJ

If you want to save a few dollars, Jet Greaves is a name to remember. The Canadiens have lost two more players long-term to injury, their power play is 0-for-who-knows, and they can’t score five-on-five. Their goaltending has also been pretty bad, so this is a decent spot for Columbus and Greaves.

Player of The Day: Tage Thompson - BUF

The Buffalo Sabres are a terrible hockey team, but boy, Tage Thompson is fun to watch. He’s up to 16 points on the season and has finished with 25 fantasy points on DraftKings in back-to-back games. We know the Oilers don’t have good goaltending and their defence is average at best, so this is a good spot for Thompson to do some damage. He should flirt with 20 minutes tonight and avoid the tough matchups.

Value Play of The Day: Jared Davidson - MTL

We go right back to the bargain bin tonight with Jared Davidson. The undrafted free agent made his NHL debut against Boston and was pretty good. He didn’t play much-- just under 8 minutes-- but still managed to finish with four shots on goal. He has scored at the AHL level, and if Martin St. Louis decides to give him just a tad more ice time, he could once again hit value. This is a boom-or-bust play, so proceed with caution.
