Nothing has changed from last season, so get ready for another year of Best Bets, DFS recommendations, and the unpredictable nature of goalies.

Before we dive into the fun, I want to remind everyone that the start of the season is often very volatile. We’ll be using last season's data, and not everything will translate perfectly to the 2026-27 season (unless we’re talking about Edmonton’s goaltending situation being #NotGood, which remains consistent). Be cautious with your bankroll in the first week of action. We have an entire year ahead of us, so let’s take it slow and build up to something great, like prom night. Keep units small so your wins can grow as the season progresses.

🔥 Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction

The Edmonton Oilers have participated in several high-scoring games to start the season, and this trend is likely to continue tonight. They have scored 17 goals in three games and show no signs of slowing down. Connor McDavid has already tallied nine points this season, and he could be in for another impressive performance. The Ducks are allowing approximately 30 shots on goal per game, and they lack the depth to contain the best player in the world. Expect McDavid to continue his streak of multiple-point games.

🔥 Colorado Avalanche vs Winnipeg Jets Prediction

The Colorado Avalanche have had a fantastic start to the season, winning their first two games and averaging 7 goals per game. They achieved both victories on home ice, where they have performed exceptionally well over the past year. Tonight, they will be playing on the road, and while their offense remains potent, it’s unlikely they will score seven goals again.

The Winnipeg Jets, meanwhile, have yet to lose in regulation and have kept opponents' scoring to a minimum, even without their top goalie. To keep the Avalanche from dominating, the Jets will likely focus on limiting scoring chances and staying out of the penalty box. However, both teams' power-play units could disrupt this strategy. Overall, the solid goaltending from both teams should help keep the total score under seven goals.

🏒Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

🏅Goalie of the Day: Logan Thompson - WSH

I want to begin by saying that I don't fully trust any goaltender tonight, but since we need to choose one, I'll go with Logan Thompson. The Penguins have been scoring a lot early in the season, but the Capitals are a solid defensive team and possess great offensive depth. Thompson is on the pricier side, but he stands out as a better option compared to the others.

🏅Honourable Mention: Stuart Skinner - WPG

If you believe that the Avalanche/Jets game will be competitive, consider Stuart Skinner as a viable option. He has performed well early in the season and is quite affordable at $7,000. While the Avalanche have been scoring goals, they are less potent on the road. We hope Skinner can limit the goals and secure a win.

🏅Skater of the Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

We can't afford to sit Connor McDavid tonight. He already has nine points and is a key player in Edmonton's offense. The Ducks are extremely weak on the blue line, and their offense will need to make up for any goals that Devon Levi might allow. This game could easily become a shootout, so it’s wise to stack up on offensive players.

🏅Honourable Mention: Cutter Gauthier - ANA

This is an excellent opportunity for Cutter Gauthier. The Oilers are allowing just 21 shots against per game, yet they are giving up over 4.5 goals against on average. While we know their goaltending has been struggling, this situation is on a different level. Gauthier is a skilled shooter, and he should be able to score multiple points while also hitting the shot bonus.

🏅Value Play of the Day: Tristan Luneau - ANA

Tristan Luneau is priced at $4,500 on DraftKings, but he can still be a valuable play in this matchup. Although he has recorded only one point this season, he has seven blocked shots and is averaging close to 27 minutes of ice time per game. We're looking to take advantage of that ice time; the more he plays, the better his chances of scoring a point or getting in front of a puck. We need a value play, and he is our top option.

🏅Top Stack of the Day: ANA PP1

Targeting Edmonton’s top power-play unit as a stack is a solid strategy. However, for added value, consider Anaheim’s power play. Although it’s only been three games, they are operating at an impressive 50%. In contrast, the Oilers’ penalty kill is struggling at just 57.1%. If they commit unnecessary penalties, the Ducks will capitalize. Keep it simple: stack Gautheir, Leo Carlsson, and Beckett Sennecke together and move on.
