Welcome into another week of hockey action on the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook this Friday! Every team in the NHL has now played at least 10 games this season and you know what that means right? We are now rolling out FULL UNIT bets unless otherwise noted in the article! I thank everyone for their patience as I recalibrated the data for a new NHL season, its time to go on the attack now!

NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today 10/30

Winnipeg Jets vs. Florida Panthers: Friday, October 30th

On a small slate it can be tough to find betting options but at least there's this mismatch of a game to spotlight. The visiting Jets come into tonight losers of seven in a row and the Panthers while unimpressive in some metrics are still playing good hockey.

Florida has surprisingly only played three home games this season and it shows seeing them at 7-4-2 to start the season. They are without Barkov and Marchand which hurts and their top goaltender but they are still huge favorites tonight because the Jets are just that bad. 

Over the last 10 games the Jets have generated just 2.73 goals expected per game which ranks the 3rd worst in the NHL during that span. By comparison the Panthers sit at 3.3 expected goals in the same parameters. The key difference though is the defensive play of Florida and their possession metrics. The Panthers rank 3rd if Corsi percentage at 55.43% while the Jets sit at 48.4%, both at even strength I should add. 

The Money Line is chalky towards the Cats but a 60-minute money line gets things closer for us when it comes to worthwhile odds. Let's go ahead and ride that on a night where there are not too many clear edges.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Akira Schmid, FLA

The Panthers are the biggest favorite on the slate and the Jets have an implied goal total of just 2.7 goals here tonight. Schmid is far from an all star goalie but his matchup is the best and in a small slate, that is good enough for me. 

Player of The Day: Jack Eichel, VGK

Going against a rejuvenated Hellebuyck could come back to bite me here but Eichel is just too damn consistent to ignore with a slate like this. He has six points in his last five games played and the Devils allow the 11th most DFS points per game to centers this season. Eichel against Jack Hughes could be a great matchup here for us. 

Value Play of The Day: Jordan Eberle, SEA

The sneaky game of the slate is the Kraken taking on the Flames! The Flames are playing no defense period and the Kraken have been a bit frisky to start the season. Eberle gets top line minutes and plays on special teams. At 5k he is more than worth the dart throw in a small slate. 

Defenseman Play of the Day: Brandon Montour, SEA

Same rationale as Eberle with the Flames just being a terrible hockey team but also for Montour they allow the 2nd most DFS points to blueliners on the season. He has 10 points in 12 games, I could see some more stat stuffing tonight. 

Top Stack of the Day: Panthers Forward Line 1

It didn't take long but injuries put the Tkachuk brothers on the same line and its been positive for the team so far. Among lines that have skated together 70+ minutes they rank inside the top 15 in the NHL in expected goals percentage share and the Jets are a great matchup for them to continue their trends.
