Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook. This is your one-stop shop for everything DFS related for tonight’s five-game slate. It’s Thanksgiving in Canada, so the NHL has blessed us with hockey all day. It’s time to spend the day being thankful for so many things: family, health, parlays hitting, etc. We have some very good matchups to cover, so let’s get into the action.

For the NHL Bets, we are going to start off very slowly. It’s a new year, and things around the league are going to be different. We don’t have stats yet to work with, so most recommendations are going to be educated guesses. Don’t blow your (bankroll) load in the first week of action. NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/13

Mondays are always rough, so let's get the week started with a little two-leg parlay, just for fun. We are going to be targeting Kirill Kaprizov and Zach Werenski, specifically their shots on goal. 

Both players are picking up right where they left off last year. Werenski is averaging well over 3 shots on goal to start the year, while Kaprizov is coming off an 11-shot performance. If you’re not playing on Underdog, now is the time to join. Pairing both players, along with their 30% profit boost, gives us a nice little payout.

 

 

 

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Thatcher Demko - VAN

Last time we went with Thatcher Demko, he gave us 14.4 fantasy points on DraftKings. He didn’t hit value that night, but the performance was really good. He didn’t get the win against Edmonton, but still provided excellent value. His knee injury, for now, seems to be behind him, so we’ll go back to him tonight and hope for another strong performance.

Honourable Mention: Elvis Merzlikins - CBJ

If the future in goal for Columbus is Jet Greaves, Elvis Merzlikins isn’t going to go down without a fight. In his first start of the year, he made 48 saves on 52 shots on goal. That is incredible for any goal, but for Elvis, considering the season he had last year, that was beyond elite. If anything, it’s given him a chance to get the start for tonight at least. The Devils have some elite forwards in their lineup, so there is some risk.

Player of The Day: Kirill Kaprizov - MIN

Speaking of elite forwards, Kirill Kaprizov is playing tonight. The Russian winger is coming off a 3-point performance that also saw him rack up 11 SHOTS ON GOAL! We know he loved to shoot the puck, but once he gets cooking, there is no stopping him. The Wild have an elite offence, and that has been on display in the first two games. Cody Ceci and Brian Dumoulin are in for a VERY long night if they get caught on the ice with #97

Value Play of The Day: Zeev Buium- MIN

The Zeev Buium era in Minnesota is about to be electric. The rookie defenceman scored his first career NHL goal on Saturday and picked up an assist. He also finished with four shots on goal and two blocked shots. It was a very productive night for the kid. It’s early in the season, but Minnesota’s power play is clicking at 45% and Buium is the quarterback. He’s $4000 on DK, and he won’t be that price again after tonight.

Value Play of The Day: Frank Nazar - CHI

There will always be a buzz around Connor Bedard in Chicago, but Frank Nazar deserves some of the spotlight. The kid is now up to five points through three games and is showing no signs of slowing down. He’s also playing close to 20 minutes a nice, so the ice time is there for him to produce. His shot volume isn’t high, but if he keeps racking up points and hitting value, that’s good enough.
