Seattle Kraken vs Calgary Flames Prediction

This matchup features two of the least exciting offences in the league. Seattle struggles to score goals, and their performance worsens on the road. Although they have won four of their last five games, I’m not convinced that their recent success reflects their true capabilities. On the other hand, Calgary has a solid home record of 12-6-2, largely thanks to its goaltender, Dustin Wolf. He boasts an impressive 2.06 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage at home, which is a stark contrast to his road stats of 3.97 GAA and .865 SV%. Wolf is the key to the Flames winning tonight, and I fully support him.

Goalie of the Day: Dustin Wolf - CGY

Dustin Wolf performs exceptionally well at home, making this matchup outstanding. In cash games, don't overthink it; just include him and move on.

Honourable Mention: John Gibson - DET

I was hoping to part ways with John Gibson in 2025, but here we are. This veteran goalie has posted solid overall numbers this season. On the road, however, he boasts an impressive 2.33 goals against average (GAA) and a .926 save percentage (SV%). These stats are strong for a goalie, especially considering he’s achieved them away from Little Caesars Arena. Although his upcoming matchup is challenging, his price tag makes him an intriguing option in a guaranteed-prize-pool (GPP) contest.

Player of the Day: Matt Boldy - MIN

With Minnesota hosting the World Juniors, the Wild have been on the road for the past two weeks. They are facing the Kings for the second time in three days in Los Angeles and hope to win the series. Matt Boldy is an elite forward, and his overall performance this season has been better when playing away from home. Although Darcy Kuemper has put up decent numbers, the Kings generally struggle at home. The Wild are in a promising position to score, and Boldy may find himself contributing on the scoresheet frequently.

Honourable Mention: Jakob Chychrun - WSH

Not enough people are discussing Jakob Chychrun, and it’s hard to understand why. He has scored 15 goals this season and is contributing equally in shots taken and blocked. Out of his 31 points, 21 have come at home. The Capitals are set to face the Ducks, who are struggling defensively, a trend that is likely to continue with Petr Mrazek in goal. Chychrun’s affordable price makes him a solid choice in all formats.

Value Play of the Day: Brock Faber - MIN

Many were concerned that Brock Faber's performance would decline after Quinn Hughes was traded to Minnesota, but that has proven to be incorrect. In fact, Faber is not only contributing offensively but also taking many shots and recording numerous blocks. This consistency helps maintain his high floor. He performs well both at home and on the road, making him an excellent choice at $5,000 on DraftKings. He’s a strong single-bullet option.
