Welcome to the first game of the 2024 NHL Stadium Series. There is nothing better than having hockey played outdoors!

The Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils will kick off the first of two games at MetLife Stadium and there are some great betting options to consider. FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a Same Game Parlay Boost for the event, while BettorEdge is running a “Beat The Expert” contest with a familiar face. More on that in a moment, though.

This Stadium Series matchup is still an important game for both teams, who are trying to keep pace in the Atlantic Division. We should see an excellent game between the two.

Let’s take a look at today's top two NHL best bets that we should be targeting.

NHL Best Bets & Player Props: February 17, 2024

NHL Best Bet: Devils 60-minute 3-Way Moneyline, (+105) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Games that are played outdoors tend to be low-scoring affairs, but we could have an exception tonight.

The Devils are a different team when Jack Hughes is in the lineup and that’s a good thing. New Jersey is coming off a frustrating 2-1 loss against the Kings last game and you know they’ll want to bounce back in this one.Nico Daws is also likely to get the start for this game and he has been nothing short of excellent over his last few games.

Philadelphia has some players up front that can score goals, but they don’t have the depth to compete with the Devils.

We’ll try to steal some value by taking the Devils to close things out in regulation, as opposed to their overall money line that's hovering around -145 at the time of this writing. My confidence plus this extra value makes this one of today's NHL best bets.

NHL Player Prop: Jack Hughes Over 3.5 shots, (-148) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Sticking with the Devils, there’s no question that Jack Hughes is going to get a ton of chances to shoot the puck. Over his last four games, Hughes has totaled 26 shots on goal, an average of 6.5 per game.

I know that this game is outdoors and players are creatures of habit, but Hughes is a shooting machine and he probably hit the over if this game was being played on the moon.

It’s also important to note that New Jersey is the home team for this game, so that gives Lindy Ruff the advantage to give Hughes better matchups. If New Jersey is trailing at any point in this game, then it just gives Jack even more chances to hit the over.

I love this NHL player prop a ton and so should you.
