Well, what a treat we have as a pair Game 5s are underway today and tomorrow!

With both series knotted up at 2 games each, it's now a best of 3 and heading down the stretch, these games should be close and entertaining. For this pair of games, they are toss-ups to me looking into the angles, so I am going to switch things up and look at some NHL props!

Panthers vs. Rangers Prediction: Thursday, 5/30

Heading into Game 5 of this series, I think most people can agree that overall, the Panthers have controlled much of the play. But Igor Shesterkin and timely goals from the Rangers have been the great equalizers. Therefore, I am going to just focus on a Panthers prop tonight as the shots will come for them and I don’t need to sweat over possibly another OT thriller.

The name that immediately sticks out in the prop market is Carter Verhaeghe, who has 59 total shots this postseason over just 15 games. That average is well over his prop line tonight of 3.5 shots on goal and, more recently, in this series, he is over the number in 3 of 4 games against the Rangers.

He will see plenty of ice time on the Panthers top line and powerplay unit as well. The opportunity will be there once again in this pivotal Game 5 for him to have a productive night and go over at plus money in today’s NHL picks.

Oilers vs. Stars Prediction: Friday, 5/31

Back to the player prop market as well regarding NHL best bets for this game as I can’t nail down who is going to win Game 5 for the life of me! Instead, let’s take a look at the goaltending in this series and find out why I love a wager to hit in this matchup.

Everyone knows that Stuart Skinner is an average goaltender and honestly, he is the one weak spot for the Oilers these playoffs. He has good games followed by poor games and it almost seems worse on the road usually. In the 7 road games he has played in thus far, he has collected 153 saves for an average of 21.8 saves per game, yet the books have put his saves prop at 25.5!

That just doesn’t make sense to me, especially because he always runs the risk of being pulled from the game on a short leash and the Oilers defense has been rock solid. Give me the under all day on this saves prop while we let the others sweat over the money line in this too-close-to-call Game 5 of action.
