We have two games today with some high-flying offensive teams. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Friday, November 4th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's now take a closer look at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS slate.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs Colorado Avalanche

For the second time this season the NHL is going international! The Avalanche and Blue Jackets are set to faceoff from Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland and this should be a fun one. Each team has had their ups and downs with Colorado coming in at 4-4-1 and the Blue Jackets at 3-7-0 but for a premier game each team should give it all they got.

There are multiple stories about Nathan MacKinnon chowing down on reindeer meat up there and that to me only sends his stock up higher. He will be the premier player on the slate, as he is in most slates. He may need to carry his line tonight as Valeri Nichushkin is still day to day and Gabriel Landeskog continues to ride the IR. MacKinnon figures to see over 20 minutes again in this game and has 12 points on the season, I think he adds a few to that tally tonight. Other interesting pieces for Colorado tonight include of course Cale Makar who has yet to score a goal this season. He is still averaging 11.1 DFS points over on DraftKings though and his price of 7.3k is down from last season. If Nichuskin is active tonight he is a must add in lineups as well. He 12 points tie the team lead and he will take up residence next to MacKinnon. Another option for Colorado will be Evan Rodrigues who has been on the top line and it paid off in a big way with 2 goals in the last game versus the Islanders. He is an absolute bargain at just 3.7k. Mikko Rantanen is another name to be aware of, he has 11 points on the season and is a huge part of the power play, this may be the pivot if Nichuskin winds up sitting this game.

Over on the Blue Jackets side the bottom falls out fast in terms of talent. If playing GPPs maybe fading the Colorado stack is the way to go and Johnny Gaudreau would top your options in that case at 6.2k. Gaudreau is consistently over double digits points and has been shutdown the last 2 games, he might be due. Someone to take a shot on will be Jack Roslovic has top center Boone Jenner is day to day with an injury. He is 3.2k on DraftKings and should see extended minutes so keep an eye on the news. Other than that Zach Werenski is always appealing on the blue line and the Avalanche allow the 5th most points to D men this season in DFS.

Buffalo Sabres vs Carolina Hurricanes

The other matchup on the slate back in the states is the Sabres and Hurricanes which could also be a high scoring affair. The total sits at 6.5 and for good reason, each offense has done quite well this season. The Hurricanes are expected to roll out Antti Raanta after the starter played last night for the Canes. Raanta is still a solid goaltender but there’s a little bit of a drop off. This puts guys like Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch and Victor Olofsson very much in play. Buffalo has 7 wins through 10 games and they’ve gotten there but putting up numbers. They hold a +15 goal differential on the season and are coming off a 3 game stretch where they scored 18 total goals! The blue liners stepping up in the play has helped as well as Rasmus Dahlin has been one of the best in the NHL so far. He is averaging 19.5 DFS points per game and has 4 points in the 3 game win streak.

On the Carolina side they’ve also got a bunch of production from the blue line mostly from Brent Burns. The former Shark has fit in nicely and has at least a point in 5 straight games. He is also shooting the puck a bunch with 4 more SOGs in 7 games this season. On the offensive side Sebastian Aho is the top option at center but his production has slipped in the past few contests. I may fade him in GPPs today given the other talent at center. On the wings is where I would make the pay up for the Hurricanes tonight as Andrei Svechnikov has been dynamite. He has 8 goals through 10 games and has slate busting potential with prior stat lines of 20.3, 45.0 and 37.0 DFS points. The price for 7k is expensive but in the short slate of today I would find a way to find him in. Some lower priced options will be Martin Necas who is on the same line as Svechnikov and he’s scored 6 goals this season and 3 in the last 4 games. On the cheapest side of things look at Stefan Noesen he is getting power play minutes in a great unit and has posted some decent totals this season.
