Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. The injury report is going to keep you up to date on all the important injuries going on around the league, and how that might affect your fantasy hockey team. Make sure to check back regularly for any updates. Let’s take a look at some players that are either ruled out or that we need to monitor.

Tyler Seguin - Dallas Stars - Illness

Tyler Seguin was unable to suit up for Friday’s game against Winnipeg due to an illness. He was listed as a game-time decision but was unable to go. We don’t have any additional information as to if he might be available for Sunday’s game against Minnesota, so fantasy owners may want to monitor the situation leading up to that contest.

Tyson Barrie - Edmonton Oilers - Upper-body

Tyson Barrie left Thursday’s game due to an upper-body injury and did not return. It was confirmed that the veteran defenceman would miss the next 7-10 days, so at least three games. It hasn’t been a great season for Barrie, so some time off might do him some good. We should get another update on his condition before next weekend.

Andrew Hammond - Montreal Canadiens - Upper-body

Canadiens goaltender Andrew Hammond was placed on IR after their game against Calgary and could miss an extended period of time. He was able to finish Thursday’s game with an issue, so the injury caught many people off guard. He’s not eligible to come back before March 12th, so fantasy owners who don’t have an IR spot for him should stash him for at least another week. If news breaks that he won’t be able to return when expected, he can be dropped in all formats.

Mathews Barzal - New York Islanders - Lower-body

Mathew Barzal has now missed four games in a row but is still considered day-to-day. He last played on February 26th against the Ducks and was unable to finish that game. We have no idea what the injury could be about, but the expectation is that he should be making a return to the lineup soon. Fantasy owners need to stay patient for at least another few days.

James Reimer - San Jose Sharks - Lower-body

Sharks goalie James Reimer was unable to finish Tuesday’s game against Las Vegas and is considered week-to-week. The veteran netminder has been decent this season concerning the circumstances, so this is a pretty big blow. All we know is that it’s a lower-body ailment, but the week-to-week status sure makes things a lot more complicated. For now, the best course of action is to wait for another update. If Adin Hill is available on the waiver wire, adding him would be a wise decision.
