For tonight's NHL slate we have six games on tap, which means decent options for player picks. There are many different ways to approach these picks, but I have selected two of my favorites from the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs. The season is still young so we will be relying heavily on statistics from last year and trends that develop this season.

NHL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks November 10

Casey Mittelstadt, Buffalo Sabres - HIGHER than 0.5 Points

Casey Mittlestadt is quietly having a great season in Buffalo, recording 12 points in 13 games. He was recently moved up to center the second line and it seems to be working well. The bonus here is that he skates on the top power-play unit with guys like Jeff Skinner and Tage Thompson. Buffalo has not been very good on the power play, only scoring five times on the season, but this is where the rubber meets the road. Minnesota has the worst penalty kill in the league at 65% and last year Buffalo was top 10 on the man advantage. Mittlestadt has points in five straight games and I don't see why it stops tonight.

William Nylander, Toronto Maple Leafs - HIGHER than 3.5 Shots

William Nylander may not have three hat tricks like Auston Matthews, but he's put together a great season so far. He has 18 points in 13 games and is a guy who LOVES to shoot the puck. So far this season, Nylander is averaging 4.5 shots per game, a full shot more than he did last year. Calgary may be near the bottom of the league in shots allowed this year, but Nylander has gone over the mark in five of his last six games. He's only gone under in four total games this year and I'd expect him to continue bombarding the net tonight.
