Welcome into NHL player projections central for the season on Underdog Fantasy! Player projections are becoming one of the hottest growing things in hockey over the past few seasons and I have definitely taken notice as it adds yet another layer to a great game experience. Throughout this season you will find picks offered on the Underdog site that I find the most appealing as there are many to choose from so that's why I'm here to help you sift through the options.

For today's slate, we have 8 games on tap around the NHL and plenty of options for player props! I have highlighted a trio of plays that I will be following tonight that includes 3 players around the league for the Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings! Good luck to everyone on the plays tonight, let's win some cheddar!

NHL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks December 5

Trevor Moore, Los Angeles Kings - HIGHER than 2.5 Shots On Goal

When a good team plays a bad team you best believe a player from that game will find his way into this article. Trevor Moore will fill that rule today as he takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets who allow 34.4 shots on goal at home this season, the 3rd most in the NHL. Moore has gone higher than 2.5 shots in 13 of 21 games this season for a hit rate of 62% and has been even better lately averaging 3.4 shots over the past 5 games.

Filip Forsberg, Nashville Predators - HIGHER than 3.5 Shots on Goal

Forsberg has been a cash cow for us in shots on goal plays on Underdog this season and I see no reason it won't continue tonight as well. He gets the Chicago Blackhawks who allow 32.39 shots on goal this season, the 6th most in the NHL and Forsberg takes advantage of those kinds of teams. He has gone higher than 3.5 shots in 16 of 24 games already this season for a hit rate of 67%, time to up that average this evening.

Dylan Larkin, Detroit Red Wings - HIGHER than 3.5 Shots on Goal

Larkin has been back for around a week now and he is back to making teams pay! He has topped 3.5 shots in 4 straight games and in 7 of the past 10 averaging 3.9 shots per outing. The Buffalo Sabres don't allow a ton of shots just 29.88 per game but that's still plenty of runway for an elite player like Larkin to make his mark.
