Welcome into NHL player projections central for the season on Underdog Fantasy! Player props and projections are becoming one of the hottest growing things in hockey over the past few seasons and I have definitely taken notice as it adds yet another layer to a great game experience. Throughout this season you will find picks offered on the Underdog site that I find the most appealing as there are many to choose from so that's why I'm here to help you sift through the options.

For today's slate, we have 11 games on tap around the NHL and plenty of options for player props! I have highlighted a trio of plays that I will be following tonight that includes 3 players around the league for the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings and Buffalo Sabres! Good luck to everyone on the plays tonight, let's win some cheddar!

NHL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks December 19

Zach Hyman, Edmonton Oilers - HIGHER than 3.5 Shots on Goal

When a player and a matchup fit perfectly together its so easy to write them up as plays. Hyman has been on point the last 10 games going higher than 3.5 shots on goal in 9 of 10 outings and will now get a matchup with the New York Islanders. The Isles allow the most shots on goal this season and 36.4 per game and over the past month at home they have given up 35.1 shots. Either way you slice it the puck will be flying, what a game it will be for Hyman.

Kevin Fiala, Los Angeles Kings - HIGHER than 3.5 Shots on Goal

Underdog has so kindly nerfed all Kings props for tonight so get ready to eat some peppers at plus odds! The one that stands out to me is Fiala as head to head he has topped 3.5 shots against the Sharks in 5 of his last 6 games. Overall those numbers aren't as good but against a Sharks team that allows over 36 shots per game I will take my chances on him to be the one to go higher on his prop at 1.25x!

Rasmus Dahlin, Buffalo Sabres - HIGHER than 3.0 Shots on Goal

I don't normally like the even number plays for shots on goal but tonight I will make an exemption. Dahlin has been amazing as usual with his production from the blue line averaging 3.8 shots on goal over the last 10 games. He has topped 3 shots on goal in 7 of those games with 2 pushes as well! Columbus Blue Jackets allow 34.09 shots on goal this season and that number has been creeping higher in recent games so let's ride some Sabres action tonight.
