If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.

The average margin of victory over the last five meetings has been less than six points.

If you are playing the Showdown Slate, here is who I like:

Jimmy Garoppolo , QB -- With the running backs seemingly banged-up, Garoppolo may have to take some of the heavy-lifting in this one. He won't be without a ground game, but perhaps we see closer to the 250-yard mark as opposed to the under-200 we've gotten in three of his last four games, especially with how soft the Cardinals secondary looks.

Kyler Murray , QB --  His overall value is tied to the 49ers pass rush. They don't generate a ton of sacks, but if Nick Bosa starts flushing Murray out of the pocket, he'll take off running which is where you will get your value. Not sure if it will be enough to warrant huge points worth of the MVP or Captain's Seat though.

Tevin Coleman , RB -- He's had a relatively heavy workload in recent weeks, but seems no worse for the wear. With Breida, Mostert and Wilson all banged-up, he'll be called upon in both the rushing and receiving game once again. The only real concern is how head coach Kyle Shanahan deploys the other running backs if they are deemed healthy enough to play. Wilson poaching goal-line carries is always a possibility.

Kenyan Drake , RB -- With Chase Edmonds out, David Johnson unlikely to play and both Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris being...well, Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris ...Drake could be in-limne for a larger workload. How much of the playbook he's absorbed and how much trust Kliff Kingsbury has in him will be factors, but considering the lack of qaulity rushing options, this could be a big Welcome to Arizona party for the Drake.

Emmanuel Sanders , WR --  He'll work out of the slot and avoid Patrick Peterson for the most part. If Garoppolo takes it to the air a little more often, the short, quick timing-routes are a favorite and that should keep Sanders very active.

Larry Fitzgerald , WR -- He may not be seeing a ton of action, but he's still the most active receiver on the team. Murray may lean a litle more on him just to try moving the chains and exploit the middle of the field behind the linebackers and in front of the safeties.

Damiere Byrd , WR -- Everyone is going to be on Christian Kirk and you can probably expect a few shots downfield to him. However, the timing between Murray and Kirk may not be there and for that, he'll turn back to his other deep threat in Byrd. If Byrd gets into one-on-one coverage with Richard Sherman , his speed should play nicely.

George Kittle , TE -- In a game where Garoppolo might do more passing, you have to expect a heavy target share for Kittle. Oh yeah...AND ARIZONA CAN'T COVER THE TIGHT END!!!!
