Who's ready for NFL Week 14 DFS? I know I am. Last week I built two types of lineups. The first was a pay-up for running back and a pay-down at wide receiver and we all know how that went. My other lineup built off the NFL DFS Playbook was receiver heavy and that was the way I needed to go. Davante Adams, A.J. Brown and Amon-Ra St. Brown were stellar and helped me cash in both cash games and GPP tournaments. It wasn't enough to cover my losses from the RB-heavy strategy, but it was enough to take the sting away. Now we have to move forward here in Week 14 and figure out our best possible game plan. Are we paying up at quarterback? what about tight end? If I don't want to lock Travis Kelce in my lineup, how much salary does that free up? Probably a lot, unless we go mid-tier instead of sifting through the DFS bargain bin.

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet. It's only Tuesday and there's a lot happening with this slate. First of all, we have six teams on a bye this week, so the player pool has been whittled down significantly. We also lose the Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers to prime-time. The Los Angeles Rams too, but that team is trash. Still, there are several players we would have liked such as Adams, Tyreek Hill, Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, DeAndre Hopkins and even Kyler Murray. We still have some outstanding options, but with a limited player pool, it's going to be easier to build cash game lineups than it is to find that low-owned GPP play we need.

So how about we just get right to it?

As a reminder, we still have our Fantasy Alarm Black Friday Special where using the promo code BLACKFRIDAY will get you 20% off the annual subscription price PLUS a special #FAmily member swag bag that includes a Fantasy Alarm t-shirt, logo pint glass and Fantasy Alarm stickers. This ran throughout CyberWeek and it's still active, so if you want to spoil someone in your life, it makes for a fantastic gift.

Now, for those who may be joining us for the first time here, allow me to say Welcome and give you “the talk.”

“If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.”

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries, which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to Sunday kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.

So what exactly did last week's Playbook deliver? As always, we like to check in to ensure we remain on the right path.

Scoring The Playbook Week 13

It was a really nice week for the Playbook. Again, my lineup builds where I paid up for the running backs were less productive and you can see below where the Playbook value really hit. We'll spend the rest of the week trying to identify the value so that we see a lot more in the 3x column below, especially on FanDuel. Perhaps Jon Impemba and I will focus on the value more during the NFL Week 14 DFS Podcast, so be sure to give that a listen when it drops Thursday night or Friday morning.

And here are the top lineups you could have created on your own using ONLY the players from the Playbook and Dart Board:
