NFL DFS Week 14 TE Coach: Tyler Warren, Darren Waller, Harold Fannin
In Week 14, you might be fighting for a playoff spot. A buy week even. Or maybe you are just playing spoiler in your league if you are already eliminated. But guess what will always be there for you, no matter what your season-long teams are doing? Our old pal DFS.
So why don’t we jump into the DFS TE landscape? After we used Trey McBride for weeks and weeks and weeks, they finally raised the price on Trey McBride to where it should be - among the top flex plays. So, if you can afford him without compromising, then great, get him in there. But he’s no longer absolutely must play. And we have other options out here at each level!

NFL DFS TE Top Tier Picks For Week 14
Tyler Warren TE Indianapolis Colts, DraftKings: $5,300 | FanDuel: $6,800
With how bad the Cincinnati Bengals have been against the tight end, it’s overshadowed how bad the Jacksonville Jaguars have been. The Bengals are allowing an absurd 23.6 DraftKings points per game. So the Jaguars' 17.6 points per game seemingly pales in comparison. But that’s quietly the second-most points per game allowed since the 2020 Jets allowed 18.0. The Jags' run D is actually pretty good, which forces teams to throw.
Yes, Daniel Jones is hurt, but that’s really just restricting his running. And it will likely lead him to getting the ball out quickly, which favors Warren. Warren also has his gadget ability, lurking in the background. It’s only a matter of time before he runs and/or throws a TD pass. The winner of this game walks away with the division lead, so it could be the perfect time to bust out the trick plays.Â
Dalton Kincaid TE Buffalo Bills DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $7,200
This one is pretty simple, so it doesn’t need a big. long write-up. If Dalton Kincaid plays, I’m using him in DFS against the Bengals. We just mentioned that they’re the worst team against the tight end in recent memory. DFS is all about upside, so we don’t care about the floor of a guy coming off injury - we just care about upside. The Bills have struggled without Kincaid, and it’s the perfect time for them to get him back.Â
If Kincaid is out, not only with Dawson Knox be on the radar for us, but Jackson Hawes will too as a dart throw. Last week, both Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely were heavily involved over the middle against Cincinnati. So we’re looking at Kincaid/Knox if Kincaid is in or Knox/Hawes if he’s out.Â

NFL DFS TE Mid-Tier Picks For Week 14
Juwan Johnson II TE, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $4,300 | FanDuel: $5,900
This one is a bit of a contrarian play. And that’s because all the other tight ends in this range seemingly have good matchups. But we don’t necessarily trust them. The Seahawks' matchup for Kyle Pitts might not be as good with Julian Love back. These Steelers-Ravens games can get ugly (plus Lamar Jackson does not look healthy). And we’ll share our thoughts on Brenton Strange below in the fades section.
As we mentioned last week, Juwan Johnson hurt his knee against the Bills. He played through that for three weeks and struggled to put up numbers. In the other 9 games he’s played, he’s given us 9 or more PPR points. That includes 6 straight games. If he didn’t have that down stretch, then he’d be priced a lot higher than this. So we’re pretty thankful for it.Â
Darren Waller TE, Miami Dolphins - DraftKings: $4,200 | FanDuel: $5,500
In your redraft and dynasty leagues, go ahead and be conservative if you want. Especially if you are the favorite. Sometimes you just need to make sure you hit a certain floor so you can survive the week. In DFS, though, we throw that mentality out the window. Our only focus is upside, especially in GPPs. We need to hit the chalk here.
Darren Waller’s role with this team is basically the same as Jonnu Smith's - to be a big WR. Jonnu ran ~70% of his routes from a WR spot last year. This week, in his first week back, Waller ran 69% of the overall routes and ran 65% of them from a WR spot - including 8 all the way out wide. He’s their best endzone threat, and this matchup against the Jets is a good one. Get him in there.

NFL DFS TE Value Picks For Week 14
Harold Fannin Jr TE, Cleveland Browns - DraftKings: $3,400 | FanDuel: $5,100
We are two games into the Shedeur Sanders era. That’s not a big sample size, but it’s all we have. And, in those two games. Harold Fannin has been involved, to say the least. He leads the team in routes run, targets, receptions, yards, touchdowns, broken tackles, and passer rating when targeted. Not just the tight end - all of the pass-catchers.
Part of that has been because he runs low aDot routes. He’s averaging only 2.7 yards over that two-game span. Whether that’s just what Shedeur Sanders likes throwing or whether they are purposely simplifying the playbook, Fannin has been a big beneficiary. So we might as well play into that trend while we can.Â
Gunnar Helm Jr TE, Tennessee Titans - DraftKings: $3,400 | FanDuel: $5,100
We started the year hoping that Chig Okonkwo could run away with this job and possibly be a top target on the team. But that hasn’t quite panned out. Lately, he’s been dealing with some sort of foot ailment that has landed him on the injury report and out of practice for a couple of weeks. Yet he keeps suiting up.
Meanwhile, Gunnar Helm has managed to carve out a bigger role. Helm has not only gotten more targets than Okonkwo the last two weeks, but has also led the team each week with 7. There are really no players under $3K on DraftKings that are getting 7 targets at any point. So we like throwing a dart at Helm, especially knowing that this foot issue for Okonkwo could turn south at any point where Helm can really shine.Â

NFL DFS TE Fades For Week 14
Zach Ertz TE, Washington Commanders - DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $8,300
His heroic performance last week will have people on Ertz here. And it has his price inflated. But we really don’t like chasing performances where the team was forced to drop back to pass 59 times. Zach Ertz has never been a big YAC guy, and that’s even more true now that he’s 35. With Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel both healthy, Ertz really needs a touchdown to pay off at this price. And there are plenty of guys that can score while offering even more upside.Â
Brenton Strange TE, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $5,200 | FanDuel: $6,300
I like Brenton Strange as a play this week in redraft - as does the rest of the world. And that’s the problem I run into. He’s going to be extremely popular here with his matchup and his production in the last two games. But how big is his upside? He’s not like some of the tight ends we have that basically play WR every snap and either lead their team in targets or are second. He primarily plays inline for a team that uses a ton of three WR sets. He’s basically what Cade Otton was last year for Liam Coen with the Bucs, which is fine. But I think folks are getting a little over their skis with a guy that has only 4 and 5 targets the last two games.
