NFL DFS QB Top Tier Picks

Justin Fields, Chicago Bears

It hasn't been perfect but at least it has looked a lot better over the past two weeks with Fields registering back-to-back 30+ fantasy point performances. His Week 5 output was aided by the atrocious defense by the Washington Commanders as he completed just 51% of his passes but managed 282 yards and four touchdowns. In Week 5 he completed 80% of his passes for 335 yards and four scores against an equally bad Broncos defense. Here in Week 6 the Bears are home against a Vikings defense that also struggles against the pass so it wouldn't be impossible to think that Fields continues to have a high output performance this week.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Losing Justin Jefferson is obviously a massive blow to the Vikings offense but rookie Jordan Addison has looked good through the first five weeks of the season and Cousins still has great chemistry with tight end T.J. Hockenson which keeps me bullish on Cousins in this matchup against a Bears defense that still has a ton of issues against opposing passing attacks.

NFL DFS QB Mid-Tier Picks

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Oh boy, Cooper Kupp came back and immediately looked like one of the leagues best wide receivers. The problem the NFL is going to have no is the fact that while Kupp looked like Kupp it was to no detriment of Puka Nacua who continued to look like Puka Nacua. Heck, even Tutu Atwell was still making plays. All of this makes Stafford an elite play this week, at home, against the Arizona Cardinals. Such a great price tag for Stafford who is looking healthy this season.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

I'll continue to put Burrow in the playbook when he is going to be priced this cheaply. In Week 4 he burned us all but in Week 5 we saw glimpses of the QB that once was as he completed 78% of his passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns. The Seahawks do not have a great pass defense and the Bengals could get Tee Higgins back this week. Burrow will be in some of my lineups once again.

NFL DFS QB Value Picks

Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts

Little revenge game narrative here against his former team. Minshew will be the Colts starting QB for the foreseeable future with Anthony Richardson dealing with a shoulder injury. The Jaguars have spent the last two-to-three weeks in London. The time change could be a factor here and the Colts offense will be a bit more traditional with Minshew under center.

Jimmy Garoppolo, Las Vegas Raiders

Speaking of revenge game narratives. We have the New England Patriots rolling into Las Vegas. Vegas is home to Jimmy Garoppolo who was the Patriots former QB, Josh McDaniels their former offensive coordinator and Jakobi Meyers the wide receiver the team let go this offseason. Add to that storyline is the fact that the Patriots are a complete mess right now. I don't see it getting better for the Patriots this week even if it's against an offense they should know inside and out. I have a feeling this game has been circled on the calendar for this team and that Jimmy G, McDaniels and Meyers will have something special planned.

NFL DFS QB Fade

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

You know what? Last week was my fault. I expected David Montgomery to dominate the Panthers and therefore Goff wouldn't need to do too much. Instead he threw for three touchdowns. Goff also has pretty drastic home/road splits where he performs much better at home. This week the Lions are on the road to face a Buccaneers team that was just on their bye. This is the correct fade spot for Jared Goff and the Lions passing offense.
