NFL DFS Week 2 QB Coach: Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers & Justin Fields
Week 2 of the NFL season brings a 12-game main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. After surprising Week 1 performances from quarterbacks like Daniel Jones, Justin Fields, and Aaron Rodgers, who led in points, while favorites like Joe Burrow underperformed, what will Week 2 deliver?Â
Each week, the NFL DFS QB Coach breaks down top quarterback picks, budget-friendly value options to save salary, and fades to avoid due to tough matchups or inflated prices. Whether you’re building cash game lineups or chasing GPPs, this is your go-to guide!

NFL DFS Week 2 QB Coach for FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy
Week 2's player pool is packed with DFS gems, as Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts make their main slate debuts after lighting up primetime in Week 1.
Hurts racked up two rushing TDs in the opener against the Cowboys, while Jackson and Allen traded blows in a thrilling Sunday Night Football clash.
This week brings juicy matchups and even the chance for a rock-bottom bargain QB amid injury buzz around one team's starter.

NFL DFS QB Top Tier Picks for Week 2
Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts
Look, picking between these three for Week 2 feels like splitting hairs. Sure, one will likely edge out the others in points, but it’s tough to go wrong here.Â
Allen and Jackson just went head-to-head, dropping massive numbers in their duel, and we’ve seen Hurts carve up the Chiefs’ defense before. If any of them fit your stack or cash game builds, lock them in and roll with confidence.
Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $6,800 | FanDuel: $8,000
Yes, Week 1 was a complete disaster for Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense, as it was last year and as it seemingly has been in recent seasons. The team is just a slow starter.Â
The hope is that the rust is off because now they have a home matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A matchup that should once again present a pretty favorable opportunity to put up fantasy points, and for that, I’ll buy back in.
Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $7,700
I swear I’m not just copy and pasting last week's QB Coach into this week, but neither DraftKings nor FanDuel moved the price on Murray heading into Week 2, where the Cardinals are home against the Carolina Panthers.Â
Week 1 pretty much went according to plan as Murray connected with Marvin Harrison for some big plays, and Trey McBride also had a solid outing with Murray finishing the game with two passing touchdowns and an additional 38 yards on the ground.
I fully expect more of the same here in Week 2.

NFL DFS QB Mid-Tier Picks for NFL Week 2
Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel:$7,300
Prescott had the unfortunate task of facing the Philadelphia Eagles' defense in Week 1 on the road on the night they raised their championship banner, and it went about as well as could be expected.Â
Yes, plays were left on the field with some big drops by CeeDee Lamb, but in Week 2, the Cowboys are home and home against a Giants team that didn’t look like anything special in their Week 1 loss against the Commanders.
I’m expecting another strong outing from Lamb, and maybe this is the first breakout game for George Pickens as a member of the Cowboys.
Justin Fields, QB, New York Jets - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $7,600
Here’s the Justin Fields rollercoaster, right?
We know he’s a dynamic runner, and he proved it in Week 1 against Pittsburgh, racking up 48 yards and two TDs on the ground. But the big question mark has always been his passing, and he answered that by completing 73% of his throws for 218 yards and a touchdown against a Steelers defense we rate pretty highly.
Now, Week 2 pits him against a Bills squad that just got shredded for 40 points by the Ravens, who moved the ball with ease. No, Fields isn’t Lamar Jackson as a passer—not even close—but he can match Lamar’s legs, and with Breece Hall and Braelon Allen bolstering the Jets’ ground game, this could be another high-scoring week for New York.
Oh, and don’t sleep on Garrett Wilson, who went off last week with seven catches for 95 yards and a score.
Fields is shaping up to be one of the most popular picks on the slate.
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $5,600 | FanDuel: $7,000
Week 1 was more of the same out of Trevor Lawrence. He teased us with his potential. He made some really nice throws, and he showed off his mobility a bit, but ultimately the stat line just wasn’t good as he completed just 61% of his passes for 178 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Week 2 presents another favorable matchup, albeit on the road, as Jacksonville takes on the Cincinnati Bengals.Â
Brian Thomas was a ghost in Week 1. I don’t foresee that being something that repeats itself, and Travis Hunter looked pretty good when the football went in his direction as well.
I still believe in Liam Coen, and I won’t let a Week 1 letdown keep me off of this Jacksonville offense, but they are definitely running out of chances.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers - DraftKings: $5,500 | FanDuel: $7,400
Umm…what did we just see? The 41-year-old Rodgers went on the road against his former team and lit them up for 244 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73% of his passes.
Was that just an F-U game that Rodgers was motivated for, or does he still have gas in the tank for one more run in his hall of fame career?
In Week 2, the Steelers are home and welcome the Seattle Seahawks, a team that we don’t typically consider scary when they are forced to travel across the country.
We also know that after Rodgers got his revenge in Week 1 against the Jets that his top wide receiver in DK Metcalf, is going to be looking to get his against the team that traded him to the Steelers this past offseason.

NFL Week 2 DFS QB Value Picks
Joe Flacco, QB, Cleveland Browns - DraftKings: $5,000 | FanDuel: $6,600
Truthfully, Flacco did exactly what we expected him to do in Week 1 against the Bengals, which was throw the football a ton, and he did just that, completing 31-of-45 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown. He also threw two interceptions, a hazard that comes with playing Flacco at 40 years old.
In Week 2, the Browns are on the road and taking on the Ravens, far from an easy matchup, but man, this dude is going to throw the ball 40+ times again, and he has the pass catchers to make plays in Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, David Njoku, and apparently, rookie Harold Fannin as well.
Mac Jones, QB, San Francisco 49ers - DraftKings: $4,000 | FanDuel: $6,000
Usually, it’s not Mac Jones season until Week 18, but with Brock Purdy dealing with both shoulder and ankle injuries, it seems like we could see Jones here in Week 2 if things don’t get better and get better quickly for Purdy this week.
If you remember, there were tons of rumors that Kyle Shanahan actually wanted to draft Mac Jones and not Trey Lance, but was essentially overruled on the selection. A few years later, neither QB has actually worked out, but Jones is finally in his system.Â
The situation for Jones isn’t great, as top tight end George Kittle is going to miss the next few weeks with a hamstring injury, and Juaun Jennings is also hurt, but we can't ignore a $4,000 price tag in a matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

NFL DFS QB Fades for Week 2
Patrick Mahomes, QB, San Francisco 49ers - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $6,900Â
I'm steering clear of any QB facing the Eagles' defense, no exceptions. The Chiefs' O-line is average at best, and after barely holding up against a solid-but-not-elite Chargers defense, it's hard to see them finding a rhythm against Philly's ferocious front. Fade city.
Daniel Jones, QB, Indianapolis Colts - DraftKings: $5,200 | FanDuel: $7,200
Week 1 was a breakout moment for Daniel Jones, as he and the Colts lit up the Miami Dolphins. Jones racked up two rushing TDs and tossed another through the air, delivering a massive day for fantasy managers.
But Week 2 brings a tougher challenge against a formidable Denver Broncos defense.Â
Forget about Michael Pittman being a factor, as Patrick Surtain will likely lock him down, forcing Jones to navigate his reads and progressions under pressure from a far stronger pass rush than he saw last week.
There will be better DFS weeks for Jones down the road, but this isn't one of them.
