Jets vs. Buccaneers Predictions for NFL Week 3, Sunday 9/21
Absolutely clutch. Love him or hate him, that has become the best way to describe Baker Mayfield. The Tampa Bay QB led yet another late game-winning drive on Monday Night Football, taking the Bucs to 2-0 and atop the NFC South.
Speaking of QBs, we loved Justin Fields to stay under 189.5 passing yards last Sunday, and boy was that a sweat-free cash. Sure, he left early due to concussion protocol, but that was in the second half when he still had just measly 27 yards on 3-for-11 passing. He’s also one of the several QBs who could be missing Week 3 action.
That means Tyrod Taylor for the Jets, and frankly, he may give New York a better chance to nab their first win. Either way, we’re not willing to trust either of these teams from a point spread perspective, so our Jets vs. Buccaneers predictions are focused elsewhere.
Jets vs. Buccaneers Best Bet: Garrett Wilson Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (-112 at Rebet)
New York is difficult enough to trust, but with the Jets vs. Buccaneers odds also listed Tampa Bay as a full touchdown favorite, that is simply a combination that we want nothing to do with. Instead, we’re eyeing a player prop market.
This truly is such an interesting matchup when finding the best Jets vs. Buccaneers picks, as each defense can’t do what the other can. Just like we saw from them last year, Tampa is fantastic against the run, but even Justin Fields may have done well against their abysmal pass defense.
On the flip side, Jets’ Sauce Gardner helps lock down the back end, but we may end up seeing Baker Mayfield run wild again. While that could be the case, we are actually going to trust Tyrod Taylor filling in for Justin Fields to feed former Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson.
We love both receptions and receiving yards here. Wilson has never faced the Bucs in his young career, but last season, Tampa allowed both the third-most receiving yards and the absolute most receptions. Sure, that was last year, but so far this year, Garrett Wilson has averaged 72.5 yards and gotten 8+ targets in both games.
We also know that Tyrod Taylor is a runner, but so is Justin Fields. That factor is also why these lines aren’t as high as they otherwise would be. We still love receptions, but we still see slightly better value with Garrett Wilson over 59.5 receiving yards (-112 at Rebet), making it the best bet from our Jets vs. Buccaneers predictions.

Jets vs. Buccaneers Injury Report & Latest News
Somehow, Baker Mayfield has been pulling off more fourth-quarter comebacks even with injuries to Chris Godwin and Tristan Wirfs. More recently for Jets vs. Buccaneers injury news, we saw pass rusher Calijah Kancy leave Monday Night Football early with a pec injury.
In New York, Justin Fields in concussion protocol is the biggest headline, but their secondary is banged up as well with Michael Carter III and Tony Adams. For more than just Jets vs. Buccaneers injuries, keep track of the entire league with the Fantasy Alarm NFL injury report.
