Commanders vs. Cowboys Predictions for NFL Week 7, Sunday 10/19
After their absolutely dominating win over the New York Jets in Week 5, the Cowboys continued their roller coaster of a season by losing to the Carolina Panthers this past weekend. Thankfully for our sake, they helped us hit our best bet by being up by 3+ at halftime.
Outside of Rico Dowdle getting his revenge over his former team to the tune of 183 rushing yards and a receiving TD, there weren’t many storylines coming out of the game, so even Jerry Jones isn’t happy with the lack of major coverage. Speaking of major coverage, we all saw Jayden Daniels and the Commanders on Monday Night Football.
Unfortunately for Washington, most fans remember what they saw last - the botched handoff leading to a fumble recovered by the Chicago Bears, and ultimately, the Commanders' loss. Along with significant offensive injuries in the nation’s capital, both of these NFC East teams have their woes.
Even still, we’ve found a spot that we love for the best bet from our Commanders vs. Cowboys predictions.Â

Commanders vs. Cowboys Best Bet: Jacory Croskey-Merritt Anytime TDÂ (-105 at BetMGM)
It’s news to absolutely no fan out there - the Dallas defense is absolutely awful. No matter which game you want to look back on, they’re allowing career performances across the board. That includes the aforementioned Rico Dowdle, who is only starting due to injury.
Worse yet, we saw Russell Wilson benched shortly after the start of the season; well, the Cowboys allowed him to throw for a whopping 450 yards and three TDs. We could bash the Dallas D for hours, so let’s focus on Commanders vs. Cowboys picks.
We expect points aplenty, but with the Commanders vs. Cowboys odds giving us the highest total of the year thus far, we see value elsewhere. That said, it’s still with an offensive focus. Specifically, we're focused on the run game, and it’s not only because of what we saw Rico Dowdle do to Dallas this past Sunday.
Washington is just 0.2 yards per game away from leading the entire NFL in rushing, and that’s primarily thanks to rookie RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Their backfield felt like a crapshoot for preseason fantasy drafts, but now, the Arizona product is the clear lead back, most recently getting 16 carries on MNF.
Although he didn’t find the endzone, he now has an awesome matchup. We’d even suggest considering a Jayden Daniels anytime TD as part of your Commanders vs. Cowboys picks for this week. Even still, we’ll take Jacory Croskey-Merritt anytime TD scorer (-105 at BetMGM) as the best bet from our Commanders vs. Cowboys predictions.
