Bears vs. Lions Predictions for NFL Week Two, Sunday 9/14
The NFC North always brings plenty of storylines, and this year, we don’t have to wait long for the Ben Johnson revenge game. The former Lions offensive coordinator has to bounce back from an MNF loss to face his former team.
However, he won’t be facing his opposite, as the former Lions defensive coordinator is now head coaching the New York Jets. That double loss of coordinators in Detroit seems to have a massive effect, at least based on what we saw in Week 1. That was a rather convincing loss to the Green Bay Packers, who are now the odds-on favorite to win the division.
As you can see, these teams are simply swapping NFC North rival opponents this week, so now we need to answer - will the Lions prove their drop-off was a fluke, or will Ben Johnson get his revenge?
Of course, that’s what our Bears vs. Lions predictions are here to help answer. We’ve found a spot we love for our best bet, so let’s get into how we’d suggest adding to your Bears vs. Lions picks.   Â

Bears vs. Lions Best Bet: Detroit -3 First Half Spread (-125 at DraftKings)
Detroit is catching a ton of smoke after their pedestrian offensive performance against the Packers in Week 1, but as you can see, we’re trusting them to prove that to be an overreaction. Before we fully get into our pick, we want to discuss a few other approaches, as there are several we considered for our Bears vs. Lions predictions.
First and foremost, our absolute favorite is actually finding a market for Detroit’s team total rushing yards to go over the total. We saw Jared Goff go 31-for-39 against Green Bay last weekend, but we don’t expect the Lions to be trailing the entire game in Week 2.
We love that approach more than another that we still like, which is for David Montgomery to go over his rushing yards prop. However, as fantasy managers know all too well, it’s often a pick-your-poison scenario between him and Jahmyr Gibbs. Even still, we’d go with Montgomery for this Sunday.
Ultimately, it should be that rushing game that gets Detroit off to a fast start. They’re the ones looking to silence the noise going back to their home, Ford Field, while the Bears are coming off the short week and having the second half of that MNF game looking awful.
We know coordinators have changed, but it’s still worth noting that the Lions were the best first-half team last year (18 points per game) and the Bears were the third-worst (7.5 points per game). We expect closer to that trend, making the best bet from our Bears vs. Lions predictions on Detroit -3 in the first half (-125 at DraftKings).
