Welcome to our 2026 NFL Week 8 Picks Straight Up! While we had a successful week overall in NFL Week 7, the Chiefs' lack of a counterpunch against the Seahawks' run defense hurt our featured picks. That being said, NFL Week 8’s slate is just as good, and we have identified some huge opportunities to cash in.
So, without further ado, it is time to bring you our expert 2026 NFL Week 8 Picks Straight Up. Below, you will find my picks, some highlighted matchups, and the odds and spreads for every game this week.

NFL Week 8 Picks Straight Up: Las Vegas Raiders ML (+105 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
After starting 3-0 on the season, the Las Vegas Raiders have since found themselves on a 4-game skid to drop to 3-4. What was once a feel-good story just a month ago is now a team clawing to find some semblance of relevancy. Well, I think that happens here against the New York Jets.
While the emergence of rookie Omar Cooper Jr. and the recent success of Braelon Allen would make you think that the Jets offense has been the more efficient unit this season, it is actually the Raiders who rank in the top half of the league in total offense and fourth overall in passing yards per game. Despite fans calling for Mendoza to take over, the pairing of Klint Kubiak and Kirk Cousins has provided a steady floor and high ceiling for this Raiders offense.
The Raiders' offensive woes have come more from the run game. Outside of Tyler Linderbaum manning the center position, the interior of the offensive line has been regularly beaten, and Ashton Jeanty has not been as dynamic as he once was back at Boise State. Luckily for the Raiders, the New York Jets rank as a bottom-10 run defense, finding much more success against opponents through the air.
On the other side, while we have highlighted some standouts for the Jets, the offense has still lacked consistency under Frank Reich. There was some clear trouble in paradise last week, as Garrett Wilson showed visible frustration toward quarterback Geno Smith on the sideline. From an outside perspective, things are clearly trending down for the Jets, especially when you cannot get your top offensive weapon involved against one of the worst teams in the league. The Jets were unable to get things done last week as a favorite, and I am certainly not betting on things to change here against a much more complete team. The Raiders have players that can take over a game, like Brock Bowers and Maxx Crosby; the Jets do not. Give me the Raiders here to get back on track.
NFL Week 8 Picks Straight Up: Buffalo Bills ML (-175 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
This is now the second week in a row we are betting against the Baltimore Ravens. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Ravens on paper; I love what Declan Doyle is doing with the offense, and their defense would be top-10 in the league if not for the second-half collapse against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. That being said, this is a different team without Lamar Jackson at 100%. I note “at 100%” because I do expect him to be back and starting over Tyler Huntley, but we saw a lower-body injury hamper Jackson last season, and I don’t think things will magically change this year.
Additionally, while Derrick Henry has been a timeless talent, he has clearly taken a step back. Henry has averaged 3.4 YPC in his last five games and has clearly struggled without Jackson taking some pressure off his shoulders. I am no doctor, but with the expectation that Jackson will be limited as a rushing threat, I think Henry continues to struggle.
Meanwhile, Josh Allen and the Bills offense obviously continues to be one of the top units in the league; they are fourth in total yards per game and well-rested coming off their bye week. Defense continues to be the weaker side of the ball for Buffalo, but their run defense has taken a massive leap compared to last year. What was once one of the worst overall units in the league now ranks in the top half of the NFL, with the help of breakout star defensive lineman Deone Walker. Until I see Lamar Jackson back to full health, I can’t back a Ravens team that is too heavily relying on a 33-year-old running back on the decline.
