NFL DFS Wild Card Round Picks, Projections & Playbook For DraftKings & FanDuel
Published: Jan 11, 2026
Welcome to the NFL DFS Playbook for the Wild Card Round!
The NFL playoffs have officially arrived and we're going to get six games over the next three days – yes, for some reason, they felt the need to stretch the games to Monday Night Football – and the level of excitements is at an all-time high. Both DraftKings and FanDuel are offering individual Saturday-only and Sunday-only slates, but we felt that there was enough money in prizes available for the full six-game slate that we are tailoring the NFL DFS Playbook to cover the full run. Obviously, we understand that strategies are different for the two and three-game slates, so in addition to this Playbook, you will also see a Saturday-Only Supplement and a Sunday-Only Supplement for those who want to play the shorter slates. Sort of a spin on the DFS Dart Board, but more in-line with a short-slate Playbook. And yes, both will have Example Lineups as well.

NFL Wild Card Weekend DFS Picks & Preview For DraftKings & FanDuel: Saturday-Monday, 1/10-1/12
Something to keep in mind for Wild Card Weekend DFS play – I am not playing any cash games. Strictly GPP tournaments. The problem with cash games, is the player overlap is just too great.Â
When everyone is using the same high-floor guys, the pay-lines tend to go way up and make it very difficult to cash with any kind of consistency. Not that you can't try your hand at cash games, but my focus will be on GPP tournament lineups.Â
Now, the player pool for the six-game slate is loaded with talent and we have plenty of strong, high-floor guys available to us. We'll figure out the best way to fit some of the big names in, but we are going to have to take some chances; dig deep for unusual plays.Â
It's not that we're going to be throwing a bunch of darts haphazardly. But we cannot be afraid to get a little weird in our plays if we really want to differentiate ourselves from the rest of the herd.
Be sure to check in with all of the DFS content we are publishing as all of our coaches are all on the same path as I am right now, and they too are looking to uncover some strong matchups the rest of the world and the lineup optimizers aren't favoring.

NFL Weather: Wild Card Weekend DFS ImpactÂ
**courtesy of Kevin Roth
LAR/CAR -- Pretty good shot of rain here, though as always we won't really know until closer to kickoff. Winds 10-15mph sustained, gusts around 20mph.
GB/CHI -- A few snow showers or flurries are possible, but we are more concerned with the wind, likely coming in a bit over 15mph sustained, with gusts averaging about 30mph. Late game wind gusts could be 35mph or higher.
SF/PHI -- Any rain will be clear well prior to kickoff, temps are around 40 degrees, and winds are between 10-15mph sustained with gusts around 25mph.
