Top NFL News & Rumors This Week:

Today's top NFL News and Rumors feature a quick look at some preseason action going on tonight, a Taylor Moton contract extension, and much more!

Preseason Games Today - Cam Ward, Caleb Williams, & More

Week Three of the NFL preseason kicked off last night, with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking down the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants dominating the New England Patriots. Tonight, there are some more exciting games featuring several starters facing off.

The Philadelphia Eagles are taking on the New York Jets at 8 PM ET, and the Dallas Cowboys play the Atlanta Falcons at the same time. While starters are not expected to play in these matchups, there are still plenty of interesting storylines, including the new Eagles receiver John Metchie suiting up and the battle for the Cowboys QB2.

The real headlines, though, are Cam Ward and the Titans starters taking on a tough Minnesota Vikings defense at 8 PM ET and the Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears starters facing off against each other at 8:20 PM ET.

The Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders wrap up the NFL preseason at 10:00 PM ET tomorrow.

Taylor Moton Receives Extension

Veteran offensive tackle Taylor Moton just signed a two-year, $22 million extension with the Carolina Panthers. Moton is entering his ninth season in the NFL and his eighth season as the Panthers' starting right tackle.

Micah Parsons Hold-in Update

While head coach Brian Schottenheimer stated that he feels good about Micah Parsons' status with the team, expecting him to be playing come Week One, things seem to be escalating between Parsons and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Jones has publicly stated that he had offered Parsons the most guaranteed money for a defensive player and is prepared to franchise tag the superstar in back-to-back years. Jones has been incredibly public with the negotiations, believing an agent should not be involved.

Meanwhile, Parsons has since wiped all Dallas Cowboys-related posts and descriptors from his social media platforms, along with posting a video on TikTok featuring the Allen Iverson "Ima win wherever I go" rant and photos of him appearing to wave goodbye. The Dallas Cowboys open up their season against division rival Philadelphia Eagles on September 4th.

Check out our latest Fantasy Football News & Rumors below, including the Brian Robinson trade and a possible Minneosta Vikings reuinion.

Brian Robinson Traded to the San Francisco 49ers

It was reported that Brian Robinson and the Washington Commanders were mutually looking for a trade partner since early this week, and a trade has finally come to fruition. The Commanders are sending Brian Robinson to the San Francisco 49ers for a 6th round pick. Robinson now joins a backfield featuring Christian McCaffrey, who is widely considered one of the best running backs in the NFL despite injury concerns, currently going as the RB5 in fantasy football. With the usage of running backs on the 49ers, Robinson now goes from being drafted as a low-end starter to one of the most valuable handcuffs.

Meanwhile, rookie phenom and current RB57, Jacory (Bill) Croskey-Merritt, is going to continue to skyrocket up draft boards as he is expected to lead the Commanders' backfield that also features Austin Ekeler (RB45) and Chris Rodriguez (RB81).

Minnesota Vikings Show Interest in Adam Thielen

The Minnesota Vikings could be looking to reunite with an old friend, as they have reportedly reached out to the Carolina Panthers in regards to wide receiver Adam Thielen. Thielen, entering his 12th year of his NFL career, spent his first nine years with the Vikings. He is currently in a crowded Panthers receiver room, along with players like Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Jimmy Horn, and Hunter Renfrow. The Vikings are currently in need of receiver help, as Jordan Addison is suspended for the first three games of the season, and Jalen Nailor is dealing with an injury.
