The big matchup here is Drake Maye vs. the Seahawks defense.

Seattle may not be dubbed the Legion of Boom anymore, but their defense (and even special teams) is considered the best in the NFL. Even with that being the case, it hasn’t overshadowed the amount of respect Sam Darnold has gotten. He’ll be part of our NFL best bets for Super Bowl 60, but perhaps not in the way you may think.

In fact, given our target for the New England side of our NFL predictions, both of our picks for the big game may surprise you! Since we won’t be targeting him with any market (spoiler), we’d be remiss to gloss over Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Arguably, the NFL’s best WR has been a major factor in Sam Darnold’s second 14+ win season (only fifth QB ever to do so).

First up is the New England side of our NFL picks for the Seahawks vs. Patriots Super Bowl. You can see why we alluded to the RB position, and it won’t take long to see why. That said, it has been quite a back-and-forth ride in terms of Rhamondre Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson.

The year began with the established Stevenson leading the charge, but after some fumbling issues, it became Henderson’s backfield. So, why are we backing Stevenson with our NFL best bets for Super Bowl 60? Well, the workload has completely flipped once again, and it’s even more dramatic than before.

Seeing Stevenson get a whopping 25 carries in the AFC Championship Game in general is huge; then, seeing Henderson get just three amplifies that. However, it goes further - Henderson played just four TOTAL snaps! While Seattle’s defense is stout for sure, we did see Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams have several chunk runs against them.

Even if he doesn’t rack up a ton of yards, a goal-line carry is all it takes to hit the first of our NFL best bets for Super Bowl 60 on Rhamondre Stevenson to score an anytime TD (add him to a Sleeper lineup).
 

 

 

Seahawks vs. Patriots Best Bet Best Bet: Sam Darnold To Throw An Interception (Use His Sleeper Card)

As for the other aforementioned pick from our NFL predictions that may surprise, that would be us supporting the other defense in the matchup. Just because it doesn’t get as much love as the Seahawks’ D, the Patriots' D is still among the best in the league. That shouldn’t be surprising, given Mike Vrabel is the head coach.

Christian Gonzalez has solidified himself as one of the top CBs to be feared by opposing QBs, and that includes Sam Darnold. Has he been underrated and undervalued at his previous stops? Without a doubt, but he’s far from flawless, hence why he’s part of our NFL best bets for Super Bowl 60 with an INT.

His 14 picks this year were the third-most in the NFL, and he had 20 turnovers overall. New England is coming off FIVE interceptions across their past two playoff games, and with Jaxon Smith-Njigba downfield, Darnold can tend to be a bit overconfident.
