I’ll say it, the injury bug was not kind this weekend. Many players left the game due to injury at various points, and while some were able to return, others faced what could be season-ending injuries. Luckily for fantasy football managers, only the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are on bye this week, which increases the number of options to replace these injured players.

NFL Week 9 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

Jackson lasted one offensive play before suffering an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand. As a result of this injury, he will be placed on IR and will potentially miss the rest of this season. With Tyler Huntley also leaving the game with a turf toe injury, the Ravens turned to Joe Fagnano for the remainder of the game, who also left the game less than 100 percent after taking a hit to the knee.

NFL Week 9 Injury Report: Running Backs

Jeremiyah Love (Arizona Cardinals)

Love reinjured his ankle in the second quarter against the Cowboys, and as a result was ruled out for the remainder of the game. With Zonovan Knight suffering a concussion, the Cardinals turned to Tyler Allgeier, who turned in a career performance and is expected to be the main focal point of the rushing attack.

Cam Skattebo (New York Giants)

Skattebo is being treated as day-to-day at this time per head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh stated that he could end up being a game-time decision at this stage.

David Montgomery (Houston Texans)

Head coach DeMeco Ryans stated this week that he had no real updates on Montgomery or his status this week. It seems likely that Montgomery will not be able to play this week.

Kyle Monangai (Chicago Bears)

Monangai will not play in week 8 and is unlikely to play in week 9, with the Bears' bye week falling on week 10. Monangai should’ve been placed on IR, but it’s clear that this injury impacted him more than expected.

Breece Hall (New York Jets)

Hall is considered good-to-go and is expected to return to action next Sunday against the Chiefs. Braelon Allen has been a star while replacing Hall, so we could see a snap split on both players, making them both less than ideal fantasy options.

NFL Week 9 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Michael Wilson (Arizona Cardinals)

Wilson suffered multiple broken ribs during the 33-30 win over the Cowboys on Sunday. It remains to be seen if he will miss any time, so practice reports this week will be crucial for us to follow.

Christian Watson (Green Bay Packers)

Watson, like Wilson above, also suffered a broken rib and was taken to the hospital during the team's win over the Panthers. Practice reports will be equally crucial here, but he did return to the game, so the team is hopeful he can play through the injury.

Jordan Tyson (New Orleans Saints)

Tyson is expected to be reinstated from the injured reserve as early as this week, and could even make his debut this coming weekend. This would be a bump for the Saints offense that lacks true receiving options past Chris Olave.

NFL Week 9 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson (Dallas Cowboys)

Ferguson suffered a low ankle sprain during the loss to the Cardinals this weekend. He may attempt to play through the injury, but practice reports should give us a clearer picture. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer did state that he believes Ferguson can play, so there are some promising signs here.
