The injury bug isn't slowing down in Fantasy Football or the NFL. With multiple major injuries to star players this week, we have many questions to answer before setting lineups for this weekend. With each position being affected and bye weeks starting, lineup decisions will only get tougher. Let’s take a look at who we’re monitoring during the coming week.

NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

Jackson was seen leaving the stadium Sunday in a boot after suffering an ankle injury. He’s getting an MRI this week, but the team is currently hopeful it’s minor, and he’ll be good to go.

Caleb Williams (Chicago Bears)

Coach Ben Johnson confirmed on Monday that Williams will remain inactive this week against the Green Bay Packers. Tyson Bagent is expected to get the start in his place yet again.

Marcus Mariota (Washington Commanders)

Mariota suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee and was forced out of action during Sunday’s loss. The team was forced to turn to Athan Kaliakmanis as a result, but Jayden Daniels is expected to practice this week, with the team planning for him to start Week 5. This practice report will be one to monitor.

NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Running Backs

Kyle Monangai (Chicago Bears)

While Monangai has his first big game of the season, he left this game with a thumb injury. He’ll likely be taking it easy this week to begin practice, but we will need to see that this won’t be an injury that will require surgery. Monangai has already been splitting work with D’Andre Swift, so expect Swift to see most of the work if Monangai is unable to play.

Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles)

Barkley suffered a hamstring injury this weekend, but it is not currently believed to be serious at this time. That said, he will undergo further testing, so we will need to monitor the Eagles' practice reports this week. These reports will be especially useful this week, as Tank Bigsby also left this weekend's game with a lower-body injury, leaving Will Shipley as the potential starter/backup.

NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

DJ Moore (Buffalo Bills)

Moore suffered another shoulder injury this weekend, but the team is hopeful this won’t be a long-term injury. Given he’s already suffered a similar injury at this point, I’m less than convinced that he’ll be good to go.

Ja'Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals)

Chase suffered a concussion against the Jaguars, which removed him from action. Concussions can be fickle, so it’ll be a waiting game for us to see if Chase can clear the concussion protocol before their game against the Dolphins.

Tee Higgins (Cincinnati Bengals)

To make matters worse for the Bengals, Higgins picked up an adductor injury this weekend as well. With Chase sustaining a concussion, Andrei Iosivas on IR, and Colbie Young dealing with a knee injury, there is a chance that the Bengals will be without their top 4 WR’s.

Tank Dell (Houston Texans)

Dell is not quite ready to return yet, but the team announced that they expect to open his 21-day practice window this week. This will give them a few weeks to ensure his health and get him up to game speed. His presence will likely be appreciated in this offense that has struggled to remain consistently healthy in 2026.

Keenan Allen (Indianapolis Colts)

Allen missed this past game with a groin issue that popped up late in the week, so his status is up in the air for Week 5. He’s always been able to play with limited practices, but it’s concerning to see that he fully missed practice on Friday after being limited with just a rest designation early in the week.

Ladd McConkey (Los Angeles Chargers)

McConkey left this weekend's contest with a foot injury. This was a reaggravation of an injury that he had previously dealt with, which leaves his status murky. If he is unable to go, the Chargers offense will be missing one of their top options.

Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings)

Jefferson was inactive this weekend against the Dolphins. Kevin O’Connell stated last week that the hope was to get him back to practice this week, so practice reports will be telling about how healthy Jefferson feels and if he’ll be able to play in week 5.

DeVonta Smith (Philadelphia Eagles)

Smith did not practice last week and was inactive against the Rams. Early reports are suggesting he’s already considered questionable for the game in week 5. Darius Cooper stepped up in his absence and hauled in a pair of touchdowns, so he could be a favorable waiver claim if Smith is inactive again.

Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders)

McLaurin pushed to play this past weekend, but was ultimately held out of the game against the Colts. Given how close he was to being active, I expect him to be good-to-go this weekend pending his practices this week.

NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Dallas Goedert (Philadelphia Eagles)

Goedert has not practiced since suffering a knee injury earlier this year. Zach Ertz was brought back to help pick up some of the slack here, but the Eagles tight end room has been a collection of injuries this season. Ertz may hold some value if Goedert remains out, but practice reports will tell us just how close he is to returning.
