NFL Injury Report 2025 - Fantasy Football Week 2: Brock Bowers, Quinshon Judkins
NFL Week 1 came and went, and injuries surely came with it. With Week 2 of the fantasy football season already rough for some teams on the injury front, lineups are likely to look very different this week. Let's dive into the NFL Injury Report Week 2 and be sure to keep these fantasy football injuries in mind before making waiver wire pickups this week.
NFL Injury Report for Week 2: Fantasy Football Injuries
NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Quarterbacks
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Purdy finished the game in Week 1, but is dealing with multiple injuries, and the expectation is that he will miss Week 2’s game due to a toe and shoulder injury. As a result, I’m highly recommending holding our hopes with Ricky Pearsall, who had a big Week 1 game, to be more than a WR3/Flex option with Mac Jones likely taking Purdy’s place.
9/13 UPDATE
Purdy is a “longshot” to play per head coach Kyle Shanahan. Expect Mac Jones to take over the starting role for the time being, with it expected that Purdy will miss potentially 2-to-5 weeks with a turf toe variant. Jones was able to support Brian Thomas’s WR1 ascension last season, so we still have hope here for Ricky Pearsall.
NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Running Backs
Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears
Johnson didn’t play in Week 1, but it’s still very clear that he’s the Bears' RB2, as Kyle Monangai was rarely used in Week 1. Johnson will be one to monitor, but given the extra day rest he received due to not playing, we’re hopeful he can crack lineups in Week 2.
9/13 UPDATE
Johnson was able to log limited practices this week, and is leaning towards making his season debut this Sunday against the Lions. D’Andre Swift took the majority of the work, but it remains to be seen if that was due to not trusting Kyle Monangai or if Johnson’s role is more important. I’m holding Johnson out regardless for the time being.
Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland Browns
9/13 UPDATE
While not dealing with an injury, Judkins is considered questionable to play Sunday against Baltimore. Judkins did not attend camp due to off-the-field issues, and did not sign his rookie contract until recently. Expect Dylan Sampson to maintain his role as the pass catching back, and if Judkins is active, he may work in as an option on early downs and between the 20’s.
Jaylen Wright, Miami Dolphins
9/13 UPDATE
Wright is still dealing with his knee injury, and is officially doubtful for Sunday. Expect Ollie Gordon to continue to operate as the RB2 behind Achane.
Will Shipley, Philadelphia Eagles
9/13 UPDATE
Shipley was held out of Thursday's practice with an oblique injury. While he operated as the RB2 for the Eagles in Week 1, between his injury and the trade for Tank Bigsby made earlier this week, I’m not expecting much out of Shipley for the foreseeable future. He can be dropped.
NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Wide Receivers
Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
Drake London was held out of Atlanta’s final drive due to a shoulder injury. This will be a serious one to monitor, given that London is likely a player we’re counting on for production.
Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
Worthy collided with teammate Travis Kelce in week 1 and suffered a dislocated shoulder, sidelining him for the rest of their week 1 tilt. Worthy was clearly a high-priority option in this offense, so this will be one to monitor. The team has said they’re currently taking it day by day, but I’m expecting Worthy to miss some time with this injury.
9/13 UPDATE
Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder, and even though he was able to log some time on the practice field, he is officially doubtful for Week 2. Hollywood Brown took over his role in the offense in Week 1, and I’m expecting the same in Week 2 or until Worthy is back in the lineup.
Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers
Jennings suffered a shoulder injury that held him out of the remainder of their Week 1 game. This injury could be serious, as we’ve yet to receive word on the imaging results of this injury. At this point, I’m expecting Jennings to miss some time, so adjust accordingly.
9/13 UPDATE
Jennings was held out of Thursday's practice with the shoulder injury that limited him in Week 1. Ricky Pearsall operated as the WR1 in this offense, and I expect that to continue even if Jennings is active. Jennings is at most a flex play if active, but I’m likely looking elsewhere.
Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
9/13 UPDATE
Waddle was able to log limited practices this week, leaning me towards him being active. That said, the Miami offense as a whole looked pitiful in Week 1, pushing Waddle more towards the upside WR3/flex role than a WR2 for fantasy teams.
Kayshon Boutte, New England Patriots
9/13 UPDATE
Boutte was able to log limited practices after coming out of his Week 1 matchup with a shoulder injury. Boutte has been a solid fantasy piece with Drake Maye at the helm, and I’m firing him up as a flex option if active.
Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9/13 UPDATE
While Godwin was able to log a limited practice this week, he is officially doubtful for Week 2. With rookie Emeka Egbuka’s electric two-touchdown debut, I’m expecting the Buccaneers to remain cautious with Godwin.
Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants
9/13 UPDATE
Robinson was able to log limited practices this week after dealing with an ankle injury suffered in Week 1. Robinson is still an important part of this Giants offense and recorded 6 targets and 55 yards in Week 1. He’s a deep-league flex play if active.
Christian Kirk, Houston Texans
9/13 UPDATE
Kirk was not spotted at practice this Friday, leaning towards him being inactive this weekend. The Texans' offense is clearly in need of another pass catcher, but no options stood out in Week 1, so I would plan to shy away from every Texan not named Nico Collins.
NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Tight Ends
Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
Bowers came out of Sunday’s game with a knee injury, with many experts worried that it could be serious given the nature of the mechanism of injury. That said, Bowers downplayed his injury after the contest. With this information, we need to monitor the situation, but I fully expect to gain more clarity throughout the week.
9/13 UPDATE
Bowers has yet to log a practice this week, leaving doubt on if he will be active on Sunday. I would prepare for Bowers to be held out of this matchup, though if he is active, I’m firing him up. The risk of a dud is worth the risk of the game-changing numbers Bowers can put up.
Evan Engram, Denver Broncos
Engram left Sunday’s game with a calf injury and was unable to return. He had to enter the medical tent twice, and as a result will likely be questionable going into their Week 2 game. Monitor this one throughout the week, but be prepared to have to find another TE to crack lineups.
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
After securing an early touchdown for the Niners, Kittle suffered a hamstring strain that is expected to keep him out for 3-6 weeks. As a result, Kittle may be a candidate for the IR. Kittle managers should be looking for another option at the position, as this injury will, at minimum, keep him out for the foreseeable future.
9/13 UPDATE
The injury bug has struck Kittle again, and he was officially placed on the IR on Tuesday. Kittle will be out a minimum of four weeks, so make sure to plan ahead and stream tight ends if Kittle was your guy.
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
9/13 UPDATE
Likely was able to workout Friday in front of the medical and athletic training staff. He was in uniform doing this, leaning it to be more likely he’s available for their matchup on Sunday. Regardless, the Ravens TE is a secondary option at best, and shouldn’t be in lineups.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
9/13 UPDATE
Goedert was held out of Friday’s practice with a knee injury. I’m not expecting Goedert to play this weekend, but if he does he’s a top-12 TE option. If inactive, I’m leaning more towards some of the streaming options as opposed to his backup Grant Calcaterra.
