After dropping the initial Week 4 injury report earlier in the week, we’ve seen plenty of players added to the injured list and plenty exit stage left as well. With Wednesday and Thursday being two days we see teams release their injury reports, we have a better idea where players stand in their rehab and whether or not it looks like they’re going to play. We've since gotten injury updates on Amon-Ra St.Brown, Christian McCaffrey, Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas and more! With that said, let’s dive into what we know for what lies ahead in Week 4 of the fantasy football season

2022 NFL Injury Report Week 4

NFL Quarterback Injury Report

Jameis Winston, NO - Back

Although it had been reported that Jameis Winston would likely return to practice on Thursday, he didn’t. Andy Dalton took the first-team reps while Taysom Hill took second-team reps behind Dalton. This is not great news for Winston’s status heading into Week 4.

UPDATE: HC Dennis Allen stated Jameis Winston is DOUBTFUL for Sunday's game. Andy Dalton is likely to start in his absence for Week 4.

Mac Jones, NE - Ankle

Although initially everyone thought Mac Jones would miss multiple weeks and surgery was even on the table, Jones is in the building part-taking in the game planning with intentions of playing.

If you ask head coach Bill Belichick, he’ll give you an update on Jones’ status. Just listen in:

Dak Prescott, DAL - Thumb

It was a big step in Dak Prescott’s development and progress on Thursday when we saw him step onto the practice field. He didn’t do much and made just a few passes to the running backs, but he wasn’t wearing anything on his injured thumb. Although he hasn’t been ruled out for Week 4 yet, a Week 5 return seems the most likely outcome.

NFL Running Back Injury Report

Christian McCaffrey, CAR - Thigh

Although the oft-injured Christian McCaffrey hasn’t practiced the last two days, it’s likely that he plays in Week 4, at least those are the reports we’re getting as of Thursday. Despite the quad injury McCaffrey is battling, he saw 25 carries in Week 3.

Dalvin Cook, MIN - Shoulder

Dalvin Cook’s shoulder injury that removed him last week and kept him from returning is basically..gone? Cook practiced in FULL on Thursday and is ready to rock for Week 4. Unless there are setbacks, Cook should not face any limitations this week.

D’Andre Swift, DET - Shoulder

It wasn’t expected that D’Andre Swift would play this week and the way practice has played out this week has all but solidified that. I mean he hasn’t practiced yet this week and is all but ruled out. Dan Campbell said they’re ready to be without him due to the nature of the position so let Jamaal Williams chalk week commence!

Alvin Kamara, NO - Ribs

With Alvin Kamara getting in limited work on Wednesday and Thursday, he’s seemingly going to suit up in the Saints Week 4 game in London. Kamara has not looked great to start the year, but as his ribs get better, maybe Kamara will too.

James Conner, ARI - Knee

Another day of limited participation at practice for James Conner. It’s his second straight and things are trending in the right direction for his Week 4 status.

David Montgomery, CHI - Ankle/Knee

Another situation that we kind of expected to this point. David Montgomery is dealing with multiple injuries to his leg and those injuries kept him out of the Bears' Week 3 game. With bad weather on the horizon against the Giants and a week full of missed practice, it looks like Montgomery’s return to action may not come until Week 5.

Melvin Gordon, DEN - Neck

We’ve now seen Melvin Gordon limited in practice for two straight days and nothing seems overly concerning in regards to his status. We’ll see how things play out on Friday’s injury report. Still, as of this writing, we should expect Gordon to be available for Week 4.

Brian Robinson, WAS - Knee

It’s literally been one month since Brian Robinson was SHOT twice and is already back at practice. Not in full capacity, but my word what a story. It’ll be sooner rather than later that Robinson takes the field for the Commanders. Not in Week 4, but not too far in the future.

NFL Wide Receiver Injury Report

Keenan Allen, LAC - Hamstring

Keenan Allen had returned to practice on Thursday and then, suddenly, he left practice early and we haven’t heard anything since. Expect more reports to come out Friday about why Allen left the field early.

Chris Godwin, TB - Hamstring

After practicing in a limited capacity on Wednesday, Chris Godwin took a small step backward on Thursday logging a DNP. It was apparently a scheduled rest day, at least that’s what some reports indicate. We’ll see if Godwin suits up for Friday’s practice or not as that will really help us figure out if he’s going to play in Week 4.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET - Ankle

It’s definitely not the greatest news in the world that Amon-Ra St. Brown missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. We’ll get a more definitive answer during Friday’s practice about whether we should really worry about St. Brown’s Week 4 status.

Gabe Davis, BUF - Ankle

This clip shown below might be some insight as to why Gabe Davis wasn’t practicing on Thursday and his status for Week 4 could be in question.

We’ll monitor his status on Friday.

Michael Thomas, NO - Foot

This is not great, Bob. Michael Thomas is already injured and already missed an entire week of practice. I suppose he still can get onto the practice field on Friday, but time is not on his side. It’s looking less and less likely that Michael Thomas will suit up in London for their Week 4 game.

UPDATE: Michael Thomas is OUT for Sunday's game.

Hunter Renfrow, LV - Concussion

Hunter Renfrow suffered a concussion in Week 2 and has yet to take part in even practice. That’s how damaging concussions can be. He’ll have one more day to suit up in practice before Las Vegas all but likely rules him out.

DJ Chark, DET - Ankle

There was nothing that happened to DJ Chark in Week 3 to suggest this injury is serious. He was in until the end of the game last week so let’s monitor what his practice status is on Friday.

Michael Gallup, DAL - Knee

According to SVP Stephen Jones, Michael Gallup is going to make his season debut in Week 4. Gallup is returning from a torn ACL and the team says he’s 100% healthy.

Zay Jones, JAX - Ankle

After practicing in full on Wednesday, Zay Jones developed an ankle injury from that time to Thursday and it kept him from practicing on Thursday. That is definitely concerning considering it popped up out of nowhere.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, KC - Abdomen

After practicing in a limited fashion on Wednesday, Marquez Valdes-Scantling did not practice on Thursday. This could have been the plan all along or MVS re-aggravated his abdomen injury on Wednesday. He definitely has a chance to play in Week 4.

Jarvis Landry, NO - Ankle

It wasn’t great to see both Michael Thomas and Jameis Winston unable to practice on Thursday, but it was good to see Jarvis Landry back in action. If Thomas can’t suit up, Landry could be a big-time target for the Saints in Week 4.

Allen Lazard, GB - Ankle

It doesn’t feel like Allen Lazard needs to log full days of practice in order to take the field on Sundays. He was limited in Thursday’s practice but nothing indicates he won’t take the field for a third consecutive game in Week 4.

Jakobi Meyers, NE - Knee

We saw Jakobi Meyers return to practice this week as he continues to battle a knee injury that kept him out of the Pats' Week 3 game. If Meyers does end up playing this game, keep in mind that Brian Hoyer threw Jakobi Meyers his first career touchdown reception.

Kadarius Toney, NYG - Hamstring

It looks as if it’s going to be another week in which Kadarius Toney is injured and doesn’t play. He has yet to practice this week and although Brian Daboll stated that Toney was close to a return early this week, it doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case.

Wan’Dale Robinson, NYG - Knee

Pretty much everything said about Kadarius Toney applies here. Both guys are close to returning, but Week 4 seems like a stretch. With the Giants lack of quality pass catchers, both guys are viable stashes.

Rondale Moore, ARI - Hamstring

Everyone’s offseason darling, Rondale Moore, is back and will likely suit up in Week 4. Moore was expected to have a big role while DeAndre Hopkins was out with a suspension but a hamstring injury put a halt to those plans. There haven’t been any talks about Moore facing limitations when he suits up on Sunday.

Mecole Hardman, KC - Heel

We’re approaching the point in the week in which we can usually tell if a player is going to play or sit out and with Mecole Hardman failing to practice yet, things would have to drastically change on Friday for him to suit up in Week 4.

Julio Jones, TB - Knee

After logging back-to-back practices in a limited capacity, Julio Jones is definitely trending towards playing in Week 4. We’ll see what happens during Friday’s practice, but things look good in the Jones camp.

Josh Reynolds, DET - Ankle

After missing practice on Wednesday, Josh Reynolds was practicing on Thursday for the Lions. There’s nothing suggesting he’ll miss this game for the Lions as he never left the team’s last game with any sort of injury or ailment.

Laviska Shenault, CAR - Hamstring

After his first game with his new team started with a bang – and a long touchdown – Laviska Shenault injured his hamstring and has missed two straight days of practice. This is definitely a matter worth monitoring as we approach Friday’s practice.

NFL Tight End Injury Report

T.J. Hockenson, DET - Foot

After being a surprise absentee from Wednesday’s practice, T.J. Hockenson returned to the field on Thursday and get some reps in. This bodes very well for his Week 4 status as he and seemingly every other Lions skill position player is on the injured list.

Austin Hooper, TEN - Neck

Austin Hooper missed practice on Wednesday due to a neck injury but returned to the practice field on Thursday. The caveat was that he was wearing a yellow non-contact jersey while on the field. We’ll see what that means for the rest of the week heading into Sunday.

Dawson Knox, BUF - Back/Hip

Dealing with a back and hip issue, Dawson Knox has now logged back-to-back limited practice sessions this week. Things look good for Knox’s Week 4 status considering he’s logged two practices, but with bad weather on the horizon for Sunday, hopefully there are no setbacks beforehand.

Dalton Schultz, DAL - Knee

There is a lot of things looking up for Dallas these days. Dalton Schultz was back at practice on Thursday, placing him in good standing for Week 4.
