Scottie Barnes Underdog NBA Pick'em — Higher 7.5 Assists

Toronto Raptors at Detroit Pistons | 8:00 PM ET

The case for Barnes clearing 7.5 assists tonight starts with a four-game streak that redefines what he is capable of as a playmaker. Since Immanuel Quickley went down with plantar fasciitis, Barnes has operated as Toronto's primary ball-handler and offensive initiator, producing 49 assists to just 11 turnovers during that absence. He set a career high with 15 assists against Orlando on Sunday, his fourth consecutive game with double-digit dimes. The number here is 7.5, which Barnes has cleared in each of those four straight outings and has now made look like a floor rather than a ceiling.

Detroit arrives in Toronto without Cade Cunningham, who continues to recover from a collapsed lung, and their defense has been yielding freely during his absence. The Pistons rank third in the league in points allowed per game at 109.5, a pace that generates the kind of open ball movement Barnes exploits best. With Brandon Ingram also unavailable due to a heel injury, the offensive creation responsibilities fall almost entirely on Barnes' shoulders. Higher 7.5 is the play in a matchup that fits his current role perfectly.

Luka Doncic Underdog NBA Pick'em — Higher 33.5 Points

Cleveland Cavaliers at Los Angeles Lakers | 10:30 PM ET

The Doncic scoring prop tonight is built on two compelling forces working simultaneously: a player coming back from a forced night off in one of the hottest offensive stretches of his career, and an opponent playing exhausted on the back end of a back-to-back road trip.

Doncic sat out Monday's win over Washington due to a one-game suspension for his 16th technical foul of the season. In the 12 games leading up to that suspension, he averaged 39.7 points per game, a stretch that included 41 points against Brooklyn and 43 points against Indiana. He has scored 30 or more in 10 straight games and leads the NBA at 33.7 points per game on the season. The suspension came at a moment when he was arguably the hottest scorer in the league, and returning home Tuesday against a fatigued Cleveland team playing game two of a back-to-back is about as favorable a reentry spot as he could ask for.

Cleveland traveled to Salt Lake City Monday night to face the Jazz and will arrive in Los Angeles with heavy legs and a depleted rotation. Their perimeter defenders will be running on fumes against a player who just set a franchise record with 30-plus points in 22 minutes a few weeks ago. Higher 33.5 for the league's leading scorer in this spot is one of the best value plays on the entire Tuesday Underdog card.
