Domantas Sabonis NBA Underdog Pick: Higher 31.5 Points + Rebounds

Sabonis has been one of the most productive big men in the league to start the season, even with the Kings sitting at 0-4. He opened with 14 points and 18 rebounds against the Clippers, exploded for 27 points and 19 rebounds against Portland, added 15 and 15 against Memphis, and posted 20 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists in San Antonio on Tuesday.

That's 32, 46, 30 and 34 points plus rebounds, clearing this line in three of four games. He's averaging 19.0 points and a league-leading 16.5 rebounds on 72.1% shooting in 36.0 minutes, and his 52 rebounds through three games set a post-merger NBA record.

The matchup is a good one. New Orleans is also 0-4, and the Pelicans are 5.5-point home favorites with a total around 237, one of the higher numbers on the board. New Orleans also ranks fourth-worst in the league in defensive efficiency at 118.7 points allowed per 100 possessions, per ESPN's Hollinger team stats. Sabonis has also had success against them throughout his career, averaging 16.0 points and 11.2 rebounds in 24 games.

Sabonis has played at least 34 minutes in every game, and Sacramento's search for its first win means he won't be resting. Sabonis at Higher 31.5 points plus rebounds leads off our card of NBA props for Thursday.

Cedric Coward NBA Underdog Pick: Higher 5.5 Rebounds

Coward has been one of the quiet reasons Memphis is 4-0. The second-year forward is averaging 13.3 points and 9.7 rebounds in 30.3 minutes, and he's shooting 72.7% from three. He grabbed seven rebounds in the opener, sat out the game at Golden State, then posted 15 points and 11 rebounds in Sacramento and 16 points and 11 rebounds in Monday's 110-105 win in Utah.

This line is set well below his production. Coward has cleared it in all three games he's played, and he's grabbed 11 boards in back-to-back games, giving him plenty of room to clear six boards even on an off night. He's become a key piece of a young frontcourt alongside rookie Cameron Boozer.

Portland is a 7.5-point favorite with a total around 234, and the Trail Blazers average 46.3 rebounds per game, so Coward will have to compete for every board. Portland also owns the league's best rebound rate at 63.2% per ESPN's Hollinger team stats, so this is a tougher test than usual, but Coward has cleared six boards in every game he's played. Still, a fast-paced game between two unbeaten teams should create plenty of misses. Coward at Higher 5.5 rebounds rounds out our Underdog NBA picks.
