What's going on everybody! Yes, this is usually a video but given all the covid issues going on right now I felt best for this short slate to do a quick write up of my favorite plays to build your lineups around so let's jump into the fun!
Point Guard
R.J. Hampton, ORL - If it isn't broke am I right? Sure, Hampton really struggled to get it going the other night against the Bucks but ultimately he got us there, finishing with nine points, three rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals. He now has a block and two steals in each of the last two games and while he still isn't starting I think on such a small slate he will be hard to ignore at the price point knowing he can still give us 5-6x return.
Shooting Guard
Isaac Okoro, CLE - The Cavaliers backcourt continues to be decimated after losing Ricky Rubio to a season ending injury the other night. The team is still without Darius Garland and has been without Collin Sexton most of the year. Okoro flashed some nice scoring ability for a stretch of games a few weeks back and at his price tag and the likely volume of minutes he will see tonight against the Wizards I think we run it here.
Small Forward
Kyle Kuzma, WAS - The Wizards are getting back both Bradley Beal and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope tonight but will be missing Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans from their lineup. Kuzma is showing strong rebounding skills once again and his scoring has been better of late as well. I can see him being the second scoring option tonight behind Beal.
Power Forward
Evan Mobley, CLE - Mobley returned to the Cavaliers lineup the other night and played 30 minutes out of the gate, scoring 22 points with seven rebounds. The rookie is averaging 2.4 assists, 1.8 blocks and nearly 1.0 steals per game this season so it is safe to say some production was left on the table. He has a great matchup tonight against the Wizards and the ever so foul happy Daniel Gafford in the opposing front court.
Center
Joel Embiid, PHI - I mean with all the value in the early part of this article you knew were looking to spend up somewhere and for me that somewhere is with Joel Embiid. He has given us back-to-back games of 60+ fantasy points and in two games this season against the Nets he is averaging 50 FP. I honestly think he has a much higher ceiling than that tonight against a Nets team that is getting guys back fresh off the covid list and may be a bit rusty to the task of defending Embiid right now.
