Luka Doncic is set to return to action after resting on the second leg of the back-to-back on Monday, while Austin Reaves remains questionable. On the Spurs side, Dylan Harper joins De'Aaron Fox on the sidelines, but Jeremy Sochan is listed questionable with a chance to make his season debut. DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Luka Doncic, LAL

(DK CPT - $15,900, UTIL - $10,600 / FD CPT - $24,000, UTIL - $16,000)

The toughest decision on the slate was without question to go Luka or Wemby in the Captain/MVP spot of your lineup. That decision was made slightly easier with Austin Reaves getting ruled out, as Luka should now post even more absurd rates than he already has all season. He is going to project as the optimal captain and he has an outstanding chance at being the one you need there, but game theory still reigns supreme in tournaments. 

Victor Wembanyama, SAS 

(DK CPT - $16,800, UTIL - $11,200 / FD CPT - $25,200, UTIL - $16,800)

If there is any player in the game that has a chance to match what Luka Doncic can do with LeBron James and Austin Reaves sidelined, it might just be Victor Wembanyama. He has legitimate so many paths to rack up a massive fantasy score, and we might even just see that elusive quadruple-double one day. Wemby is the easy pivot from Luka in the top lineup spot. 

Stephon Castle, SAS  

(DK CPT - $10,800, UTIL - $7,200 / FD CPT - $14,100, UTIL - $9,400)

Castle has been outstanding himself this season, even if his leap forward has been overshadowed by Wemby. He is posting stronger numbers across the board, with his jump in shooting efficiency perhaps the most impressive. Castle is second on the team in usage with a 27.5% rate, and that rate only figures to grow with Dylan Harper now sidelined. Castle in the top lineup spot can create flexibility for the remainder of the lineup if for some reason Luka and Wemby do not post ceiling games. 

 

 

 

DFS Utility Picks

Jake LaRavia, LAL 

(DK CPT - $9,300, UTIL - $6,200 / FD CPT - $9,300, UTIL - $6,200)

LaRavia becomes one of the top values on the slate with Austin Reaves ruled out. We have seen him play 30+ minutes multiple times this season when the Lakers have been shorthanded. Reaves vacates a 30.9% usage rate and 37.3% assist rate, and LaRavia can contribute in multiple areas. He should be heavily involved with a role that is far better than his price tag. 

Devin Vassell, SAS 

(DK CPT - $9,600, UTIL - $6,400 / FD CPT - $10,500, UTIL - $7,000)

The Dylan Harper injury might open a path for some sneaky Devin Vassell upside. His usage has been under 20% this season with Wemby and Castle leading the offense. Even when those two were resting, Vassell was yielding to Harper, who has been third on the team in usage among regular rotation members. Vassell should have an opportunity to return to the 22% usage we saw last season. 

Marcus Smart, LAL 

(DK CPT - $8,400, UTIL - $5,600 / FD CPT - $6,900, UTIL - $4,600)

Smart should be locked into 30+ minutes with Reaves out for this game. He hasn't been all that productive no matter the Lakers injury situation, but the minutes help him to a strong floor.
