The Lakers visit the Clippers in Wednesday night’s featured DFS Showdown, setting up an exciting matchup between crosstown rivals. The Lakers are playing in the second leg of a back-to-back after losing to the Trail Blazers on Tuesday while the Clippers are well rested, last playing on Sunday. We should have a fun battle between Luka Doncic, Darius Garland, and Austin Reaves on our hands in this one.

Be sure to monitor injury updates, confirmed starting lineups, and projected minutes before lock to identify the best captain/MVP options and salary-saving plays. Let’s dive into the NBA DFS Showdown playbook breakdown for today’s game, starting at 10:30 pm ET.

DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Luka Doncic, LAL

(DK $20,700 / FD $27,000)

Currently, Luka Doncic has a 41% USG and is averaging over 1.7 DKP/min and 1.57 FDP/min and heads into a great spot against the Clippers. The Clippers are playing at a decent pace at this point, which is a good thing for Doncic and the Lakers. Doncic has as high as anyone.

Austin Reaves, LAL

(DK $14,700 / FD $20,700)

It's been steady production for Austin Reaves as he's put up 40+ DKP in all four games he's played in and has been the clear “Robin” to Luka Doncic's “Batman”. He has a 25% USG and is averaging north of 1.2 FP/min. Kris Dunn will be handling Luka Doncic and that means we should have smooth sailing for Reaves a lot of the night.

Darius Garland, LAC

(DK $14,100 / FD $18,000)

Garland has been dominating the usage for LAC putting up a team-leading 32.7% USG and is averaging 1.06 FP/min to boot. The Clippers are without Rui Hachimura here and he's been the second-leading scorer and minutes played player, so Garland is going to be shouldering an even bigger workload. If the Clippers have any chance at keeping pace offensively it's because of Garland.

DFS Utility Picks

Walker Kessler, LAL

(DK $9,000 / FD $14,000)

The Lakers have three players averaging north of 1 FP/min this year and we've already talked about two of them. Walker Kessler is the third and he's been a key cog for LAL and what they're trying to do. He's a plus rebounder and shot blocker, which raises his floor, but his 20% USG and 15.8 PPG is the part that will raise his ceiling.

Keaton Wagler, LAC

(DK $7,200 / FD $6,600)

We're not sure who will start for Rui Hachimura, but they could go in multiple directions including Keaton Wagler and shifting Derrick Jones down to the PF spot. Wagler has a 22.2% USG and is averaging over 1 FP/min. He's contributing across the board and his offense is being driven by his ability to get to the foul line. Wagler's a solid play if he starts or comes off the bench because the role has been there.

Kris Dunn, LAC

(DK $6,400 / FD $7,600)

To say I'm surprised at what Kris Dunn has done to start the year would be underselling it. He's been fantastic from a fantasy standpoint and although I'm not sure it'll last, ride it while ya can. He's well over 1 FP/min and because of his stocks, he's a 1.17 FP/min guy on FanDuel. He's more appealing on FD because of the defensive stats.

Isaiah Jackson, LAC

(DK $5,600 / FD $8,200)

Brook Lopez has been the better fantasy player, but Isaiah Jackson is the starter and has been good in his own right. He's second on the team in FP/min at 1.1 on both DK and FD and has seen his minutes up at 24 and 28 over the last two games. Jackson's always been a good FP/min player, it's always been about health and his ability to stay out of foul trouble.

Brook Lopez, LAC

(DK $5,400 / FD $4,000)

The back of the baseball card would tell you we're getting offensive production out of Brook Lopez that we were getting 4-5 years ago but that's what this version of the Clippers need. Lopez is coming off the bench and letting it fly. His 24.5% USG is the second-highest mark on the team and the 1.3 FP/min he's averaging actually leads the team.
