Happy Sunday, November 23rd! Tonight's featured NBA Showdown is a rematch from last week, with the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Utah Jazz. The injury report is basically clean for both teams, as LeBron James is back in action and the Jazz are dealing with only a couple of long-term injuries. Let's dive in!

DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Luka Doncic, LAL 

(DK CPT - $18,600, UTIL - $12,400 / FD CPT - $25,500, UTIL - $17,000)

Even with LeBron James back in the lineup, Luka Doncic has an incredible ceiling. He's still the number one option in the offense and can always fill up the stat sheet. Luka posted 37-5-10 last week in this matchup with everyone healthy. 

LeBron James, LAL

(DK CPT - $14,100, UTIL - $9,400 / FD CPT - $19,500, UTIL - $13,000)

James played 29 minutes in his season debut, and he should build up to mid-30s from there. He might have a max of around 35 minutes for this one, but that is plenty of time for him to put up a massive fantasy score in this great matchup. If you don't trust LeBron will see a slight bump in playing time in just his second game, Reaves would be a fine option for Captain epxosure. 

Keyonte George, UTA 

(DK CPT - $12,300, UTIL - $8,200 / FD CPT - $14,400, UTIL - $9,600)

The choice for the top Jazz Captain is razor-thin between Keyonte George and Lauri Markkanen. Either one could put up the top point-per-dollar score on the slate, but I slightly prefer the matchup for George with LeBron back in the lineup on the other side. George exploded for 34 points against the Lakers last week, and a repeat performance would not be surprising. 

 

 

 

DFS Utility Picks

Austin Reaves, LAL

(DK CPT - $12,900, UTIL - $8,600 / FD CPT - $18,000, UTIL - $12,000)

There's an argument to be made for Reaves in the Captain spot, but LeBron's return limits the ceiling just enough that he 

Lauri Markkanen, UTA 

(DK CPT - $13,500, UTIL - $9,000 / FD CPT - $17,400, UTIL - $11,600)

Markannen has flashed solid upside on several occasions this season, so playing him in the Captain spot is also viable. He nearly matched George with 31 points in this matchup last week. If he adds a few more rebounds or George struggles, Markannen could easily wind up the top producer for the Jazz. 

Ace Bailey, UTA

(DK CPT - $8,400, UTIL - $5,600 / FD CPT - $6,600, UTIL - $4,400)

The rookie has far more talent than most players in this price range. He's going to come with inconsistencies, and the role isn't quite what we want it to be, but he has significant upside if he plays well. 

Kevin Love, UTA 

(DK CPT - $3,900, UTIL - $2,600 / FD CPT - $2,400, UTIL - $1,600)

A punt play to fit in an extra stud in a game that legitimately has at least five of them makes sense. Love has always been able to rack up fantasy points in a hurry, which he will need to do given he's unlikely to play more than 15-16 minutes.
