DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Stephen Curry, GSW

(DK CPT - $15,900, UTIL - $10,600)

The greatest shooter of all-time is on a heater, with at least 34 points in four of his last five games. The 14.5-point spread is slightly concerning from a pure ceiling perspective, but Curry should smash for however long he is out there. Utah has allowed the most three-pointers in the league, so matchups don't get any better for sharpshooters like Curry.

Jimmy Butler, GSW

(DK CPT - $14,400, UTIL - $9,600)

Butler has the advantage of being slightly cheaper than Curry, but he also doesn't quite have the raw ceiling. He can fill up the stat sheet and absolutely has a path to being the top overall fantasy producer on the slate. He has two games of more than 50 fantasy points this month, and several more with more than 40 FP.

Keyonte George, UTA

(DK CPT - $13,500, UTIL - $9,000)

George has had the highest ceiling on the Jazz this season, and he has been hitting it with incredible frequency of late. The fact that he is slightly cheaper than Markkanen locks him in as the top choice if you are chasing an underdog in the Captain slot. George put up 27-5-8 against the Lakers last night and now has at least 47 fantasy points in three of his last four games. He has a chance to be the top scorer in the game any time he takes the floor.

DFS Utility Picks

Lauri Markkanen, UTA

(DK CPT - $15,300, UTIL - $10,200)

George has flashed the ceiling more frequently of late, but Markkanen probably has the higher raw ceiling. The salary savings to George are useful, but Markkannen probably comes in slightly lower owned if looking for a large-field pivot.

Quinten Post, GSW (or whoever starts)

(DK CPT - $6,000, UTIL - $4,000)

Draymond Green has been ruled out, which likely means a start for Post. Last time Green was out, Trayce Jackson-Davis drew the start, and the time before that it was Post. You never really know with Steve Kerr, so we will just have to wait and see. Both big men are in play regardless of who starts, with the starter being a slightly safer play.

Moses Moody, GSW

(DK CPT - $9,300, UTIL - $6,200)

Moody should draw the start again and play upper-20s minutes. In a matchup against a team that allows the most threes in the league, Moody has a chance to put up a bunch of points, even if he is a little pricey.

Gary Payton, GSW

(DK CPT - $3,600, UTIL - $2,400)

Payton should be locked into his 16-18 minute role as a defensive specialist off the bench. He can fill up the stat sheet, and he has multiple paths to scoring fantasy points at a very cheap salary. Using a punt like Payton helps you get up to three of the four studs in the game.

Jusuf Nurkic, UTA

(DK CPT - $11,700, UTIL - $7,800)

Nurkci played 30 minutes last night, but there is no concern about a limit for the veteran. He has already played 30 minutes on the second leg of a back-to-back twice this season. If Kevin Love sits out tonight, there is an even stronger probability of Nurkic playing 30 minutes again tonight.
