After upsetting the #2-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs, the Golden State Warriors took Game 1 over the #3-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night. That was without Stephen Curry for most of the game, which is the latest news when it comes to making Warriors vs. Timberwolves predictions for Game 2 tonight.

Even with that being the case, we’ve still got a best bet from our Warriors vs. Timberwolves picks, and we’ll even add a guaranteed Sleeper Fantasy promo code bonus to it!

Warriors vs. Timberwolves Predictions For Tonight NBA Playoffs Game 2, 5/8

Well, if you were a fan who backed trends, then you more than likely came out on top in Game 1. That’s because Golden State was not only 3-1 against Minnesota in the regular season, but also 3-1 against the spread.

Speaking of the spread, you’ll also notice that the Warriors vs. Timberwolves odds for Game 2 have ballooned in the favor of Anthony Edwards and company. After being six-point favorites for Game 1, the Stephen Curry injury now has them as favorites greater than 10 points on some platforms tonight!

Frankly, we’re not too keen on double-digit point spreads in the NBA playoffs, especially with the multiple 20-point comebacks we’ve seen already. In fact, Golden State winning Game 1 made it the first time all four road teams won the first games of all four conference semifinal matchups!

Therefore, the best bet from our Warriors vs. Timberwolves predictions is going to focus elsewhere.

Golden State Warriors: No Steph, No Problem?

Prior to Game 1, we highlighted that somehow, someway, Stephen Curry continued to make history while closing out the Houston Rockets. Well, he remains the biggest news story in Golden State, but for a far less positive reason. He was already dealing with his right thumb injury, but now, it’s a hamstring issue.

Stephen Curry has had his fair share of ankle injuries, but this is a first for him. Based on what we heard from head coach Steve Kerr immediately after the game, we all but knew that he’d be out for Game 2. The bigger concern is moving forward, so they’ll need Buddy Hield to continue stepping up after going a remarkable 14-for-19 from deep the past two games.

Minnesota Timberwolves: Shooting Overconfidence

The Warriors also had a ‘no Jimmy Butler, no problem’ in the first round, and in a revenge spot against a former team, he nearly had a triple-double. On the flip side, the Timberwolves couldn’t have paid enough to perform as well. It’s been an issue since their three-point barrage in Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.

It made them far too confident in something that they are not built upon. It’s the defense led by Rudy Gobert that is their calling card, not shooting. It’s not just their 15.7% from deep the past two games that’s bad (it’s actually an NBA record for the worst ever) - they didn’t learn their lesson last series when they went 5-for-25 after their one good shooting night.

Warriors vs. Timberwolves Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines

As mentioned, Minnesota is an even more significant favorite than Tuesday night, and you can see the latest Warriors vs. Timberwolves odds for Game 2 below:

Warriors vs. Timberwolves Best Bet: Jaden McDaniels Over 12.5 Points (Use His Player Card At Sleeper Fantasy)

While we highlighted Minnesota getting overconfident shooting-wise, we’re certainly not saying to expect Anthony Edwards to go 0-for-8 in the first half again, especially after head coach Chris Finch called out the superstar following the loss.

We’d also be remiss not to explicitly state the Stephen Curry Grade 1 hamstring strain following Wednesday's MRI, even if we all but knew that he’d be out for this Game 2. While Buddy Hield became just the fifth player in NBA history to make 14 threes in a two-game playoff span, this Stephen Curry injury news still doesn’t have us focused on him.

If you still want to stick with a standard market, to expand on the trend of the Warriors performing well against the Timberwolves this season, they’re also 9-3 in playoff games without Stephen Curry. They haven’t been without him in the postseason since back in 2018, but having Jimmy Butler now certainly helps.

All that said, our favorite approach is still on one of the Timberwolves that doesn’t give nearly enough love - Jaden McDaniels. We know that Minnesota runs through Anthony Edwards, but so too do oddsmakers. That can lead to inflated prop lines when playing at home, so we see far more value here.

McDaniels had just 12 points in Game 1, and even with an off night for him, he still nearly hit over this prop. In three of the first four games in the first round against the Lakers, he easily cleared it with totals of 30, 25 and 16 points. Two of those were the two home games for Minnesota as well.

He’s also averaged 34 minutes per game this postseason, and that’s even with just 18 minutes when Minnesota closed out LA. The opportunity is absolutely there for us to be talking about him rather than Anthony Edwards getting called out by his coach.

Therefore, the best bet from our Warriors vs. Timberwolves is on Jaden McDaniels over 12.5 points (add his player pick to Sleeper lineups).
