After a thoroughly exciting Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, it’s time to turn our attention to New Hampshire Motor Speedway and the Ambetter 301. It’s the Cup Series only trip to Loudon, New Hampshire on the 2022 NASCAR schedule. The Magic Mile as it’s known has been hosting NASCAR events since it opened in 1990. It’s a fairly tricky 1-mile track and that means we get a slightly different look for NASCAR DFS this week.

Weather for Loudon New Hampshire This Weekend

The temps will be in the mid-to-upper-80s for much of the race weekend. However, there is a threat of afternoon storms of Sunday. Now, the chance of rain is still less than 50-percent on Sunday but there is a chance we get a delay in the action. As far as the temps go, that’s not overly hot for this time of year and so the temps shouldn’t be a huge issue for the drivers like they were in Nashville or St. Louis a few races ago.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway Track Layout

The Magic Mile as it’s known is a very flat, 1.058-mile track. It’s racing surface of asphalt and granite has held up pretty well over the years but there’s not been much modification since the track opened in 1990. There are two racing grooves on the track, though you might notice some traction compound or resin laid down to help the upper groove. The corners are banked at between two and seven degrees between the apron and wall. In terms of comparison tracks for this week, you can look at Phoenix, Gateway, Richmond, and even a tad of Martinsville for your research.
