Today’s slate of MLB player props on Underdog Fantasy offers up some really good lines that we can exploit for some profit today. Looking at the board for the early games, there are two props that really stand out, and I’ll be adding more of my favorite player props to the Underdog Fantasy Discord channel as the day goes on. We are going to attack a strikeout prone lineup early on in the day and then come back later on with one of baseball’s biggest free agent signings in the offseason. MLB Underdog Player Props:
OVER 4.5 Ks
The Tigers have the fourth-highest strikeout rate against lefties this year, coming in at a whopping 28.1 percent. Looking at Detroit’s starting lineup today, five of the nine starters have punched out at least 20 percent of the time against southpaws this year, including four above 28 percent. Jordan Montgomery may only have six strikeouts through 8.1 innings this year, and he’s coming off a disappointing outing, from a strikeout perspective, where he only struck out two Orioles. However, if fellow southpaws Kris Bubic and Rich Hill can strikeout four Tigers in 4.1 innings each, six innings from Montgomery should be enough for five punch outs against this Detroit squad.
OVER 7.5 Fantasy Points
I typically don’t like props with fantasy points, but I’ll take it today with Seiya Suzuki, as he can accumulate points in a myriad of ways. First off, Bryse Wilson has allowed righties to hit him at a .300 clip this season, and Suzuki has hit right-handers at a .444 clip with a. 1.426 OPS. Suzuki has a .583 OBP at home this year, and while has gone hitless in his last two games, he’s walked four times. He’s reached base safely in every game this season, and Chicago will put up some runs against Pittsburgh today, with Suzuki being right in the middle of it.
