Underdog MLB Top Plays April 10: Bryce Harper in Prime Spot
Published: Apr 10, 2022
We have a long day of baseball ahead as per usual on Sunday's! We have some VERY juicy match-up's that we're looking to exploit and these pitch count props have really been treating us well. Let's go back to the well there!
Bryce Harper OVER 1.5 total bases
With the Athletics throwing out right-handed pitcher Daulton Jefferies on Sunday, Bryce Harper and the rest of the Phillies are in a great spot. Jefferies had an ERA north of nine in Spring Training and even struggled in the minors last year. Against left-handed hitters, Jefferies ceded a .287 AVG.
The reigning National League MVP absolutely demolished right-handed pitching last year, belting 33 home runs along with a .333 AVG, .444 OBP, and a .711 SLG%. Harper has hit the over on this number once this year in two games and spanning back to last year, he hit the over in 18 of his last 30 games played. He’s nuts.
Marco Gonzales OVER 81.5 pitches
Last year, the most pitches thrown on Opening Day was Marco Gonzales with 99. It’s not Opening Day and it’s a new year, but Gonzales threw many more innings than most others during Spring Training. 17.2 innings to be exact.
If you take a look at how the Mariners have deployed their starters thus far. Robbie Ray threw 96 pitches and Logan Gilbert threw 85. Give me the Gonzales over as he could easily match Ray’s pitch count here.
