When looking at the board of MLB player props over on Underdog Fantasy, there was one in particular that jumped out. Yes, the Los Angeles Angels have Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, but the Texas Rangers have Dane Dunning, baby! And all he has done of late is be a consistent source of strikeouts. Additionally, Daulton Varsho, one of everyone’s favorite catchers in preseason fantasy baseball rankings, should continue his recent hot streak in a matchup against Jonathan Heasley and the Kansas City Royals. We’ll be looking for two overs tonight for my favorite player props over on Underdog Fantasy for Tuesday, May 24th.

Dane Dunning OVER 4.5 Strikeouts

I love this play tonight. Dane Dunning has punched out 13 Angels in 9.2 innings of work this year, and the Texas starter has at least five strikeouts in five straight starts. The Angels’ lineup does pack a good punch, but they have the sixth-highest strikeout rate versus righties this season, and the seventh-highest strikeout rate in all of baseball over the last two weeks. I’ll take the over here.

Daulton Varsho OVER 1.5 Total Bases

At face value, right-handed hitters have had better success against Jonathan Heasley this season, but that won’t scare me off Varsho tonight. Sure, Varsho is only hitting .229 at home this season, but since the calendar has flipped to May, he’s hitting a more palatable .281 at home, including hitting safely in seven of his last eight contests. Against right-handers in 2022, Varsho is sporting a .379 wOBA and .896 OPS, and he’s seeing the baseball well of late.
