We have a 10-game MLB DFS main slate on Monday, May 15th, and there is a lot of interesting things taking place tonight. We have a lot of elite names that we’re going to want to spend up on as well as Coors Field, so we’re definitely going to need value options on the mound and at the dish. In order to get to the likes of Yordan Alvarez, Aaron Judge, and Fernando Tatis Jr., some of these value plays below will help you get there. Don't forget to check out the latest MLB weather report, confirmed MLB lineups  the MLB daily projections and

MLB DFS Pitchers

Tanner Houck, Boston Red Sox, SP

The value tier at starting pitcher on Monday is non-existent, so we’re going to do our best here. Outside of one start against a good Blue Jays offense, he’s been very steady this season. He’s notched double-digit fantasy points in five of his seven starts this year and has flashed nearly 24 DKP upside as well. Seattle has NOT been a good offense all year as they’re the team with the third-highest K-rate against right-handed pitchers this year while ranking 21st in OPS, wOBA, and ISO. I like Houck as a GPP option on sites that use two pitchers. Not sure how much I love the idea of using Houck on one-pitcher sites such as FanDuel.

Michael Wacha, San Diego Padres, SP

Look, if you’ve listened to any of our content at Fantasy Alarm and Bettor Sports Network, Jon Impemba and I have really liked the Kansas City Royals' offense of late but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t target them based on how things have gone for them for the entirety of the season. Against right-handed pitching this year, Kansas City is 22nd in OPS and 24th in wOBA paired with a 24.2% K-rate, which is the seventh highest in baseball. Wacha has allowed one earned run over his past 12 innings and is the biggest favorite on the board at -225 in a very great pitcher’s environment. Just throwing this out there, I’d also stack against him. That just shows you how bad the value tier at pitching is tonight.

MLB DFS Hitters

Casey Schmitt, San Francisco Giants, SS

This guy has been a VERY fun roster since he was called up to the big leagues for the Giants as he’s batting .458 with two home runs, five runs batted in, and a 1.292 OPS through his first six games. The Phillies are using an opener but Bailey Falter will pitch the bulk of the innings. Since last year, right-handed hitters have owned him notching a .340 wOBA and .212 ISO. Against lefties thus far, yeah only a nine-at-bat sample, Casey Schmitt has a .778 ISO and a .951 wOBA. He’s one of the better values we have on the board.

Alex Kirilloff, Minnesota Twins, 1B/OF

Left-handed bats have given Noah Syndergaard fits this year and in checks Alex Kirilloff who’s giving us a glimmer of hope because he’s actually healthy. Lefties are batting .325 with a .900 OPS and a .383 wOBA against Syndergaard along with a .212 ISO. Kirilloff is hitting .409 through his first eight games, has back-to-back multi-hit games, and has a two-homer game on his ledger. He has a .400 ISO and a .569 wOBA against right-handed pitching thus far in 2023. Kirilloff is a fantastic price on DraftKings specifically.

Dominic Fletcher, Arizona Diamondbacks, OF

The Diamondbacks have a lot of very good left-handed bats in their lineup and Dominic Fletcher has played himself into an everyday role. Against right-handed pitchers this year, Fletcher has a .267 ISO and a .539 wOBA. He doesn’t strike out a lot and has a robust 53.6% hard-hit rate on top of all of that. Drew Rucinski takes the mound and he’s been dismantled by left-handers as they have a .800 SLG%, .564 wOBA, and .300 ISO against him. Arizona has the second-highest implied total and there isn’t a lot of ownership coming his way.

Spencer Steer, Cincinnati Reds, 1B

We’re getting the Reds pretty cheap as they head into Coors Field to take on the Rockies in this series. Steer has been solid lately, especially in the power department, which plays quite well in Coors Field. He has six extra-base hits, and three homers, over his last 10 games and has a .568 SLG% and a .916 OPS as well. Steer has been solid against right-handed pitching this year notching a .216 ISO and .331 wOBA. His match-up is against Connor Seabold, who’s been shelled this year. Seabold has really struggled against right-handed hitters as they’ve notched a .359 wOBA and a .217 ISO.

Added: Matt McLain, Cincinnati Reds, SS
