Happy Monday! We’ve got a great slate of baseball games ready for us for the start of the week. We have an 8-game main slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel getting underway at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate is highlighted at the top end of the pitching side by Luis Castillo and Jordan Montgomery taking the mound. At the top end, I prefer Luis Castillo facing the Chicago White Sox if I am to pay up for pitching; if not, there are some great cheaper options to go after with my favorites found below. On the offensive side plenty of great options to go after today with some of my favorite offenses to target, including the San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Boston Red Sox. There are many different ways to build a winning MLB DFS lineup today, so let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Allan Winans, Atlanta Braves (DraftKings: $7,500 / FanDuel: $6,500)

Allan Winans has been fantastic in his first two starts and lights out in his last outing, going 7 scoreless innings against the New York Mets while striking out 9. The rookie is 28 and not some big prospect, but he has looked fantastic in his first two starts, and I expect him to continue this quality pitching today against the New York Mets once again, even if it isn’t quite as great as the last time out.

Paul Blackburn, Oakland Athletics (DraftKings: $7,000 / FanDuel: $7,800)

Paul Blackburn just went 7 scoreless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals with 8 strikeouts. Over his last 5 starts, he holds a 2.10 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 30 innings, and that includes a start in Colorado. He has been solid recently, and getting a matchup against the Kansas City Royals should be a great place for him to shine, even with acknowledging that the Royals have been hitting well lately.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Triston Casas, 1B Boston Red Sox (DraftKings: $4,300 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Triston Casas has been out the last two games with a tooth infection. He should be back in the lineup today, and if he is, I want him in my lineup as well. Casas has turned into quite the power-hitting first basemen over the last month plus, and I don’t see him slowing down. Facing Cristian Javier, who has been extremely hittable recently, I think Casas will get right back into producing if he is in the lineup today and keep the Red Sox offense churning out runs.

Ezequiel Duran, 3B Texas Rangers (DraftKings: $3,700 / FanDuel: $2,800)

Ezequiel Duran is getting hot again after having a slow start to August. Over his last 8 games, Duran has slashed .423/.467/.577 and has 4 multi-hit games. This Texas Rangers offense is fantastic, and while Duran isn’t much of a power threat, his ability to stack up hits and grab plenty of runs and RBIs in a great offense makes him super valuable when he is hitting well.

Masyn Winn, SS St. Louis Cardinals (DraftKings: $2,500 / FanDuel: $2,300)

Masyn Winn should certainly steal plenty of bases in the majors with great speed, but what has been exciting this year is the development of his power in AAA with 18 homers with a .288/.359/.474 slash line. He hasn’t done much exciting so far in his first 3 games with 3 singles and nothing else, but at this price, his talent excites me as someone who should be flashing both the power and the speed soon.

Tommy Pham, OF Arizona Diamondbacks (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Tommy Pham is on a hot streak once again. He is currently on an 11-game hitting streak with a .311/.333/.644 slash line over that streak with 3 homers, 10 runs, and 11 RBIs. He is getting to hit 3rd in the Diamondbacks lineup almost every day, and even in a tough matchup today against Jordan Montgomery, I think Pham will keep his streak going and provide some solid value at this price.
