Welcome to Monday! Unfortunately, there are no day games to get you through your Monday, but we do have a great 8-game slate to get ready for that will be getting underway at 7:10 PM EST on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Today’s slate is highlighted by Tyler Glasnow, Max Scherzer, and Max Fried taking the mound as the top-priced pitchers on the slate. Of the top options, Tyler Glasnow is easily my favorite, with Max Fried as the runner-up, but all 3 are viable options if you’re wanting to pay for pitching. There are some great value options as well, with my favorites found down below that you could use to pivot away from those top arms or to pair with one of them. Emerson Hancock was originally going to be my favorite value pitcher of the day, but it appears Logan Gilbert is getting the start for the Seattle Mariners today instead. On the offensive side, there are plenty of directions to go with some of my favorite offenses to target today, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, and the St. Louis Cardinals. There are plenty of ways to build a winning MLB DFS lineup, but you will need some good value plays to help, so let’s jump into some of my favorite value options of the day to help build a winning MLB DFS lineup!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Grayson Rodriguez, Baltimore Orioles (DraftKings: $6,400 / FanDuel: $7,500)

Grayson Rodriguez has looked solid since his call back up to the majors back in July. In his 5 starts since being called back up he has posted a 3.45 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. The strikeouts haven’t been super high, but 24 through 28.2 is still not bad, and considering he has managed these results against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and Houston Astros, it is quite promising. The Padres have a strong offense when they decide actually to show up, but I don’t see any reason why Grayson can’t keep up his quality pitching against them today.

Brady Singer, Kansas City Royals (DraftKings: $7,900 / FanDuel: $9,100)

Brady Singer’s season-long numbers still look terrible, as he wasn’t pitching well for most of the season. It looks like he has begun to turn things around, though, with a good stretch of pitching recently. Over his last 4 starts, he has gotten 27 strikeouts through 25.2 innings with a 2.45 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP. His slider has been great, and I think he should be able to get another great start today with a fair number of strikeouts against the Seattle Mariners

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Ryan Mountcastle, 1B Baltimore Orioles (DraftKings: $4,200 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Since July 28th, Ryan Mountcastle has only gone hitless one time. Over that stretch, he has slashed .442/.500/.692 with 3 homers. He also has 6 multi-hit games, including back-to-back two-hit games in his last two starts. He continues to be a consistent bat for the Orioles, and I don’t see that changing today, even against a solid pitcher in Yu Darvish.

Gelyber Torres, 2B New York Yankees (DraftKings: $4,400 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Gleyber Torres just saw an 11-game hit streak come to an end last night. Over that hit streak, he slashed .419/.490/.651 with 6 extra-base hits and 5 multi-hit games. The Yankees have another tough matchup tonight facing Max Fried, but I still think that Torres can bounce back after his hitless ballgame last night and continue to provide great value at second base both for the Yankees and for our DFS lineups.

Ezequiel Duran, 3B/SS Texas Rangers (DraftKings: $3,800 / FanDuel: $2,600)

Ezequiel Duran had been on quite a cold streak at the plate after a fantastic June. It looks like he may be breaking out of that now, though, as he has 6 hits over his last three games. He has 14 homers and 7 steals on the season, and while you aren’t counting on those often, he will consistently get on base and will score and drive in runs for this very good Ranger’s offense and in a decent matchup today against Patrick Sandoval he should have no trouble finding a way to return this value.

MJ Melendez, OF Kansas City Royals (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $2,800)

MJ Melendez has been hitting great for a while now and certainly continues to do so in his recent 7-game hitting streak with 3 homers and a 1.292 OPS. Facing Logan Gilbert today is no easy challenge, but Melendez has been hitting well against everyone recently and has been showing plenty of power. While I wish we could be putting him in the catcher spot in lineups, even as an outfielder, he provides plenty of value at this price with how good he has been recently.
