Happy Wednesday! Today will get us to the three-week mark of the baseball season. Today we have a 10-game slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 1:05 EST. Max Scherzer is the big name taking the mound today, but there are some other great pitching options taking the mound today as well, including a few cheaper options I am targeting. We get Coors on the slate with Pittsburgh continuing their series in Colorado. Some other great offensive options include the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Atlanta Braves. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Alex Cobb, San Francisco Giants (DraftKings: $7,700 / FanDuel: $8,600)

In his last start, Alex Cobb had zero swinging strikes from his Splitter. The thing with splitters, though, is they are extremely volatile from day to day. You either have it or you don’t on any day, and against the Dodgers, Cobb didn’t have it. I am going to bet on him getting the pitch back today, and against the Miami Marlins, if it is working, he could have a fantastic start. Even with only one start so far of 4 innings or more (7 innings against Kansas City), he still has 14 strikeouts in 14.1 innings with a 3.15 ERA. At his price, I really think Cobb will easily return his value against the Marlins.

Brady Singer, Kansas City Royals (DraftKings: $7,100 / FanDuel: $7,300)

Brady Singer is always going to have some risk when you go with him. He is going to have his blowups across the season, but he is also going to have some great starts. In his last outing, he gave up 8 earned runs off 10 hits over 5 innings against the Atlanta Braves, though he still had 8 strikeouts. Singer is easily the best pitcher on the Kansas City Royals, and I think he is way too cheap for the upside he provides. In two pitcher lineups, you could pair Singer with Cobb to really spend up on your hitting or use the discount to take one of the higher-priced pitchers in Scherzer, Steele, or Morton.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Pavin Smith, 1B Arizona Diamondbacks (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $2,400)

There is a reason Jake Woodford is the cheapest pitcher on the slate today. I don’t trust Woodford at all and will happily grab some Diamondback hitters today. Pavin Smith is terrible against lefties, but he can still hit well against righties and has good power potential. I like him to return his value at 1B in this matchup today, especially if they put him back in the 3-hole in the lineup. Smith is hitting well in his first handful of games this season, including his first home run in his last game on Monday, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets another today.

Bryson Stott, 2B Philadelphia Phillies (DraftKings: $3,800 / FanDuel: $3,100)

In the second game of yesterday’s doubleheader, Bryson Stott’s 17-game hitting streak to start the season came to an end. In that 17-game stretch, 11 of those were multi-hit games. Stott has earned himself the leadoff spot in Philadelphia and with him continuing to hit this well atop this Philadelphia lineup, he will be worth where he is being priced. Stott had a disappointing rookie campaign, but I still believe in him as a hitter, and I don’t think this is just a hot streak for him. He appears to have figured it out at the plate, and I will continue to take advantage until he gets appropriately priced.

Ke'Bryan Hayes, 3B Pittsburgh Pirates (DraftKings: $4,200 / FanDuel: $2,900)

I’m sticking with my 3B pick from Monday of Ke'Bryan Hayes in Coors. He had 2 hits with 3 RBIs and a run on Monday against Freeland and now gets a worse lefty in Austin Gomber. Hayes continues to leadoff for Pittsburgh, and getting a decent hitter in the leadoff spot in Coors at this price just feels like a no-brainer to me if you aren’t looking to spend up at the position.

Rodolfo Castro, 2B/SS Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $3,700 / FanDuel: $2,700)

Here we have another benefactor of Gomber pitching in Coors today. Rodolfo Castro demolishes lefties; in his career, he is slashing .272/.336/.576 against them. While the Coors players have definitely been priced up with them playing in Coors, Castro (along with Hayes) are ones I see as not getting enough of a jump for today’s game. If you want to stack Pirates today, I think Castro and Hayes are two of your best options to build around, especially if you want to fit Reynolds and McCutchen into your lineup as well.

Cody Bellinger, OF Chicago Cubs (DraftKings: $3,300 / FanDuel: $3,300)

Mason Miller is making his MLB debut today against the Chicago Cubs. We all know what Bellinger is capable of. He is on a seven-game hitting streak, including a five-hit effort on Monday against Oakland. I know it has been a while, but you are still getting a 27-year-old former MVP very cheap. I don’t know if he will keep hitting this well, but I am going to, at the very least, ride the hot streak while it lasts when he is available for this price.
