Kevin Gausman Underdog Fantasy MLB Pick: Higher Than 6.5 Strikeouts

I’ve been a sucker for Kevn Gausman strikeout plays this season and, well, it hasn’t always panned out but I’m a believer in the talent and this is yet another great matchup for Gausman as he faces an A’s team that has the third highest strikeout rate in baseball against right handed pitching.

Gausman has only had more than 6.5 strikeouts twice this season but he does have a 25.7% strikeout rate on the year and his K/9 is creeping closer to 9.0. 

With a strong start today, I think we can get the seven strikeouts we need.

Alec Marsh PrizePicks MLB Pick: Higher Than 5.5 Strikeouts

Last season Marsh had a 10.29 K/9 but that number has dropped dramatically this season to just 7.53.

While concerning, we are starting to see signs of life with Marsh bumping his K/9 to 9.2 over his last five starts.

With the strikeout rate on the rise we can take advantage of these lower strikeout projections, especially when we are getting a “scorcher” payout boost.

Marsh has finished with more than 5.5 strikeouts in three of his last five starts.

We were all very bullish on Hunter Brown coming into the 2024 MLB season after a strong rookie year and boy did he have some troubles.

The team put him on the IL to get him some rest and to work out some of the issues and since returning he has looked a whole lot better.

His K/9 is still strong, nearing 10.0 which makes today’s line of five strikeouts a bit interesting.

The Angels have the ninth-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season and Brown has finished with more than five strikeouts in each of his last two starts.
