The 2022 MLB playoffs are back after a one-day hiatus, and we have a full slate of postseason games with some excellent matchups. If you won some money on Underdog last night with the Patrick Mahomes-to-Travis Kelce connection, let's keep it going with some MLB player picks worth targeting on Tuesday. Look no further than Philadelphia’s J.T. Realmuto and Houston’s Justin Verlander for your top MLB player props today. If you want a third pick of the day, Atlanta’s Austin Riley is the guy for you. Check out our MLB lineups page and MLB daily projections for your MLB player props and daily fantasy baseball needs. Here are my favorite MLB player props and plays of the day over on Underdog Fantasy for Tuesday, October 11.

MLB Underdog Top Picks & Plays October 11

J.T. Realmuto – OVER 6 Fantasy Points

Realmuto may not have been overly prolific in the wild card round, but a fresh slate comes with a new series, and Realmuto is no stranger to Max Fried. In his career, Realmuto is 12-for-36 with three home runs against the Atlanta southpaw, and the Philadelphia backstop has a .262 average and .348 wOBA against left-handed pitching in 2022. Fried has a 4.06 ERA in the postseason for his career, and this Philadelphia team was able to put runners on base against him in 2022, as Fried’s 1.26 WHIP in four starts against the Phillies was his highest mark against any team he faced at least twice in the regular season. There’s no reason we can’t get an extra-base hit and a run or RBI from Realmuto today, especially in a matchup that he has had some success in historically.

Justin Verlander – OVER 6 Strikeouts

really wish this was at 5.5, but nonetheless, we trust in the veteran workhorse and postseason hero. Verlander tends to come up big in the biggest moments, and we know that there’s plenty of swing-and-miss in his arsenal. The Mariners struck out nearly one-fourth of the time against right-handed pitching over the last two weeks, and Verlander posted a 9.1 K/9 against the Mariners across a handful of starts against the Mariners in 2022. Verlander has at least six strikeouts in nine of his last 14 postseason starts, and when you look at his 2022 numbers, he posted an 11.1 K/9 at home, and he had six or more strikeouts in five of his last six starts to close the regular season.
