I would expect significant interest in these two guys for the MLB DFS slate as well, so let’s double dip and get in on the action over at Underdog Fantasy. Here are my top MLB player props and best bets for Sunday, April 9.
Mike Trout OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Trout has a higher batting average against right-handed pitching for his career, but he’s no slouch against southpaws, slashing .290/.417/.534 with a .244 ISO and .404 wOBA. Furthermore, Trout has a career 1.023 OPS at home, and he just so happens to have a pair of home runs off Kikuchi in his career. The superstar center fielder has homered in both games of this series against Toronto, and he’s riding a seven-game hit streak where he has scored eight runs and driven in eight. In fact, for the 2023 season as a whole, he’s surpassed this mark in seven straight contests, and in every game except for Opening Day.
Drew Rasmussen OVER 5.5 Strikeouts
Rasmussen was excellent in his first start of the year, striking out seven Nationals across six scoreless innings. The spin rate on all of his pitches was up, and he generated a hearty number of swings outside the strike zone. Rasmussen has always pitched better at home, to the tune of a 2.79 ERA and 25.1 percent strikeout rate. The righty will face off against an Oakland squad that has the eighth-highest strikeout rate and sixth-lowest OBP against right-handed pitching in 2023.
